Harrell and Guirri

Harrell's Father was preparing Food when Harrell and Lilly entered the apartment. Harrell’s dad Mr. Izibeloko quickly came out from the kitchen into the living room. Harrell and his father lived in a two bedroom flat, the living room is painted horse blood, Harrell's room is painted baby pink, something Harrell has always been afraid of showing people because in Glomsmire pink and purple is generally accepted to be a color for girls whereas every other primary color is generally accepted for boys. The room was built the African style, it had bathroom and Toilet together, and the kitchen was separate from the living room. The two bedrooms are opposite, Harrell’s was facing his Dad’s, a corridor leads from the living room to the toilet and bathroom while the kitchen is located left from the entrance. In between the short corridor there’s the two bedrooms facing each other, the corridor leads straight to the toilet and bathroom. “Welcome children” Mr. Izibeloko said. “Thank you” Lilly replied. “Please use Mr. Izibeloko instead” he corrects. Mr. Izibeloko is one of those who hates titles, he prefers people addressing him by his name. "Okay. Thank you Mr. Izibeloko, Lilly said. Mr. Izibeloko smiles as Lilly and Harrell seats down on the chair. He says “ I’ll be right back” as he goes back into the kitchen to complete his cooking. "You have a nice place here, she commends. “Thank you” Lilly “What will you like to have?” Harrell asks. "Nothing" she said reluctantly. “You don’t want to have nothing?, Remember this is your first time in my place, you make me feel bad. “I never meant to make you feel that way, if you insist I’ll have a bottle of water” she said. "I insist" Harrell replied happily, as he enters the kitchen to get a bottle of water from the fridge. Mr. Izibeloko is done cooking, he comes out with a mouth full if chicken. He eats frivolously, he doesn’t mind when it comes to food. "My wife always said I don’t have table manners, he said looking a Lilly..….and I think, you think the same, he continues talking and eating, do you?" He asked. Lilly don’t know what to say because she actually does.."how can a man have a mouth filled with chicken and still talk, and even try to laugh?" she said within herself. "No I don’t,* she lied. "Where are you from? He asked while still battling with the chicken in his mouth, as Harrell comes out from the kitchen and gives the bottled water to Lilly, he seats down with them and listens to their conversation, hoping to make a contribution. "I am from Elnor but moved here with my Uncle after I lost my grandma" she said. "So you stayed with your grandma in Elnor?" He asked "Yes" she answered. "What about your parents" He asked. Dad!, Just then Harrell interrupted. Harrell didn’t want Lilly to go through the horrible experience of trying to remember memories she holds dear. "It’s okay Harrell" she says, as she continues to answer Mr. Izibeloko's questions. "My Parents died when I was a baby, so I had to live with my grandma, I grew up with her." "I’m sorry about that, he said. “You don’t have to be sorry, it’s not your fault” she replied. "I know. Sorry, do you care to join me?" He asked. Daddy, you’ve been eaten that chicken over twenty minutes now, it’s now that it’s almost done you remembered to call her?" Harrell spoke like his cautioning his father. That’s why I said sorry, Mr. Izibeloko said smiling as he continued, "however, there’s more in the kitchen if she cares to join." "Don’t worry Sir, sorry Mr. Izibeloko I’m okay." She replied. "How exactly, did your parents die? Huh?." Mr. Izibeloko asked, he continued "I said what caused your parents death?" "Okay, they died in a car crash according to my grandma both lost their lives on the spot." Lilly replied. "Sorry....dear, your grandma must be a very strong woman...what a loss!." Thank God, you’re okay, at least you’ll carry on their legacy." "I doubt if I can do that, my grandma spoke highly of my father, and mother, I doubt if I can measure up to that standards she spoke of" Lilly replied. “You can..you have the blood of your parents coursing through your veins, I believe you’ll do better” Harrell said. "Once again welcome! Izibeloko cuts in. "Have you showed her your room?. Mr Izibeloko asked Harrell looking at Lilly. "Dad , not again" Harrell said..must you bring this up whenever I have a visitor? Harrell has something he hides inside his room, he doesn’t want anyone to know about it. "If I were you I’ll check it out." Mr . Izibeloko spoke, as he walked back into the kitchen to drop the plate he carried to the kitchen. “Will you take me to the room?” she requested. Please don’t insist, Harrell pleads. I insist, Lilly said giggling wickedly. Harrell chuckles, and said "okay." They both walk to the corridor as he opened his room for Lilly to enter. "Come in" he said. "Wow" Lilly exclaimed. "Please don’t laugh" he says sheepishly "I love the color, it’s beautiful"She commends. "Thank you." He said. "So why do you keep this away from your friends?" She asked. "I hardly have friends, but when I was younger anyone I brought to this room who saw that my room was painted pink, seem to think I was gay, or should I say think it’s odd. I lost many friends because of this and since then I decided not to let anyone into my room." "Wow that’s a sad one anyway, I love it." Lilly said. "You’re a girl so you would but all the boys have brought into this room seems to think differently" he said. “You haven’t brought all the boys in this world to this room, have you?" She asked. "No! But if we should judge based on majority then I think it's true." He replied. "So you mean the minority is not important? that’s partial and discrimination. "Okay." He answered. "Please stop thinking that way, it’s a fallacy." She said. I’ll definitely stop it. He replied. After some hours Lilly sets to leave and Harrell walks her away. Guirri Guirri you have to be careful, the man on the black overall said.. Guirri has been a messenger to the man since when she was just ten after their house got burnt. She didn’t know the content of the messages she delivered for this man and some others but she made good money from it. That day after she left police custody not having any where to go, she sat outside the Pentagon. The Pentagon is found in Glomsquare. It is one of those places lovers go to cast stones for good luck, the Pentagon is a stature, the building opposite the stature was named after the stature, so the building is also called Pentagon. She sat their because she never wanted to go to any of her relative. She never wanted to experience what she did with her dad, she wanted freedom but where to lay the head was an issue. This man came tapped her back, touching her shoulders and said “child what are you doing here?” she didn’t answer because he was a stranger and talking with strangers wasn’t something she liked doing. "I know you’re stranded...I can help you.” he said. "Help" she muttered, “how can you help me?” she asked. "I want you to run errands for me, and I’ll pay you for every errand you run 500Glom" he said. "500glom is a big money, one can get a bike from it" she thought. “You’ve said nothing” the man said. “Okay, I’ll do it” she answered. "Okay. it’s a deal however, I have rules. "What are the rules?" She asked. “Rule No.1, you'll never open the package, rule no.2 don’t ask my name, you can call me Mister, rule no.3 don’t tell no one about this until I end your contract, rule no.4 just deliver the package don’t ask no questions. These are my rules, if you accept to live by them as long as we do business then we’ll start work immediately. “Okay, I accept” she said. "Deal?" He asked. "Deal" she answered. Since then the two have been business partners, Guirri finally bought a house with her savings when she turned fifteen, the Police called her severally to know how she gets her money but the Police will release her reluctantly, it happened severally, so much that the Police got tired of it. They’ve worked together since then, and she hasn’t broken any of the rules given to her, and he has kept his part of the bargain by always paying her for her work. "Please don’t fail me, the man said “Have I ever failed you?” she asked. "No. You haven’t, the man answered. “So don’t bring that up again” she said. “Just deliver the message” he said. "Okay. I will" she answered after which he pays her 250Glom as she takes off on her bike
