Lilly : Beginning of Chaos

1620 Words
The night is calm, the stars in the sky surrounds the moon as it glitters to the earth. Lilly sat outside watching and admiring the Blair from the moon not frightened by the darkness around her. She thought she needed some quiet time to replace the loneliness, sadness and pain she feels. She'd thought there was no need to be alive but her grandmother always spoke of hope, in her voice, she'll say "keeping hope means hoping when no evidence comes forward. The memory of grandma Alice is one memory she holds so dear because grandma Alice was the only one who understood her. She was just sixteen years old when grandma Alice passed away since then Lilly has been a lazy foot mixed with depression. Since grandma died she moved in with uncle Sam, her Dad's younger brother. Uncle Sam is a tall, dark, hairy man in his late 30's. Sam loves kids but has refused to have kids, some say he's a pedophile because he's always spotted playing around kids. Sam possess a feature most blacks in the black community lacked. He has brown yellowish eyes with very tiny ears, unlike other blacks in the black community. As Lilly continued swimming in her thoughts, Uncle Sam walked up to her, touched her chin, she suddenly realized herself. What are you thinking about? Uncle Sam asked. "nothing" Brenda replied. Lilly knew she had to explain because Uncle Sam don't take nothing or no as an answer, he loves pushing further, a thing Lilly disliked about him. Will you tell me what's really the matter or you want to go down that road? he asked. "No. I don't want, please uncle just let me be." she said firmly. "Well since you've decided to mute the interesting part of the conversation I'll also keep bugging you." Sam spoke teasing Lilly. "you know this your curiosity will get you into trouble someday?" Liily said jokingly "Well , I don't need trouble, got into lots of trouble as a kid, the more reason I'm trying my best to keep you out of it." He spoke lightly and smiled. Lilly shrugged then finally decided to tell him. "Okay, I'll tell you" she said while looking keenly at him. "So what's up.?" He asked. I was thinking about Grandma, how we used to go fishing, swimming and how we stitched torn cloths together" Lilly said. "Yeah! your grandma was an angel, she was wonderful but I believe wherever she is, she'll want you to live a happy life." I know uncle but it's just so hard to forget about her". Lilly replied. "Lilly" He holds her hands, I'm not asking you to forget about Grandma, I know those memories are very precious to you, all I'm saying is, you have to be happy, you have to live, Sunboys said “If life is worth living, then don't think just live it” uncle Sam loved the Sunboys. He played “faraway” almost everyday overnight. The Sunboys is a popular music ban both in Elnor and Glomsmire, the Sunboys became famous in the late 20s and was widely accepted by the public. "I'll try my best Lilly replied" "Promise?", He asked expecting assurance from Lilly Yes promise!. She replied. Now let's go in and wash those plates. He said as Lilly stood up and followed him into the kitchen. Tuesday was a busy day in Glomsmire. Lilly moved from Elnor to Glomsmire after her grandma's death. She wasn't used to this busy life, people running here and there in Glomsmire unlike Elnor where was more like a country side so quiet, full of old people, less cars, scanty houses, more of trees and tiny parks. Elnor was quiet but not boring. It was a place of fun, people hardly slept and the police wasn't as troublesome as this. The police were friends to everyone, and every Sunday the old, young dined together in the parks playing games. "I miss Elnor" she said. "Well you've being doing lots of missing lately" uncle Sam replied as they head out, uncle Sam was going to work while Elnor went to school. Lilly had no friends in school yet and it was her second week in school, she'll put on earpiece, listening to nothing. The earpiece was to avoid talking to anyone. She missed her friends in Elnor, BettySnore and Elina. She has never had a male friend, she always thought them to be too cocky and weird. As she walked in along the corridor, some students who stood by the way having s**t-chat with their friends kept staring at her, she didn't mind because she was used to it. The staring wasn't new, the first time she started school in Glomsmire High School was the worst day of her life. She almost ran outside while walking in. The crowed in the hallway, people staring something she's not used to since Elnor was a quiet place with less population. Elnor High School was a fun place, less students, lots of space, the teachers weren't bugs like that of Glomsmire. She walks into her class, everyone was seated. "The weirdo is here, welcome weirdo" Salvador spoke mockingly but Lilly didn't answer. She just gave the look that frightened everyone. Mr. Tristan works in, Mr. Tristan is their History teacher, Mr. Tristan is a short Caucasian who loves repeating topics. He has a strange accent different from everyone in Glomsmire. Mr. Tristan is the only teacher that interest Lilly. Lilly found herself loving History. In Elnor certain topics of History were banned by the council. History was taught but teachers were banned from teaching certain topics and Lilly didn’t see those topic interesting. So class today we are going to discuss necromancy. 'What is necromancy?"Mr. Tristan asked. A student raises up his hands to answer, Mr Tristan looks his direction and points him. He stood up and said "Necromancy is the worship of the dead" " Right, any other person with an idea?" No one raised up their hand. "I assume we all agree with Saint's definition? Okay. Saint's answer is slightly correct but not totally. Necromancy is conjuration of the spirits of the dead for purposes of magically revealing the future or influencing the course of events. He is slightly correct because a Necromancer needs to study the dead, spells that pertains the resurrection of the dead. In the medieval period people consulted the dead to get answers and directions, some did it for power or wealth and others did it for love. Seventeen years ago a powerful witch died in Elnor trying to bring her dead husband back from the dead. The PERCHES also known as the CLEANSERS chained her with spells and put her to death because necromancy was f*******n in Elnor. Witches who worship Lilith now worship her because they believe she will resurrect someday and take revenge on her murderers. "Who are the PERCHES?" Berry asked. "Thank you Berry for the question The PERCHES are half Witch and half Werewolves. It was said longtime ago that the Warlocks and Werewolves were always at war but that came to an end when a Werewolf and a Witch fell in love, they gave birth to a boy and a girl who were instructed by their parents to marry no one but themselves to keep pure hybrids also known as pure blood. These were given power to keep peace, balance between the Werewolves, Sorcerers and Vampires. "Do the PERCHES still exist?" Berry asked again. "No one knows but bed time stories say, they still keep the balance and peace. The practice of necromancy is one of the oldest practice of Witchcraft but not every witch is given the knowledge of spells of necromancy. Any other question?" Mr Tristan asked. Lilly had so many questions to ask, questions rumbling in her mind but she's too timid, she couldn't ask but she resolved within herself to ask Mr. Tristan when he leaves. "That will be all for today, go and read up the pilgrim of Osages. We will discuss about it in our next class. As Mr. Tristan leaves the class. Lilly stood up and walked up to him. "Excuse me Mr. Tristan" Mr. Tristan who was in a hurry, stood still waiting for Brenda to meet up with him. "Mr. Tristan" I have some questions. Okay. "What's the name of the woman who was killed?" Lilly, her name was Lilly. Why did you ask? "My Uncle told me about a similar story, but he refused to give me details of the lady" Lilly said. Ok! Right there are secrets about the lady many writers have refused to detail. Most of the things I know now is due to personal researcher, you can make a personal research if you want to know more. "Okay, thank you Mr. Tristan, I really appreciate your help" She said. Lilly was so eager to know the blockbuster story, just like her uncle she is the curious type. Mr. Tristan on the other hand, is also wondering why Brenda is so interested in this story but he was also happy that is student is taking his class Serious. Back in the classroom, Peter and Chanson were talking about Lilly who all of a sudden is becoming the favorite girl to the history teacher. "Did you notice the new Girl?" Peter asked "Yes of course, I did, what about her?" Chanson asked. Didn’t you see how Mr. Tristan was so interested in what she had to say?" he asked as he continued speaking, that can’t just be a teachee her-student thing. There must be something going on between the two. “maybe, maybe not” Chanson said.
