Randy raised his hand, silencing the despairing, tearful crowd. He took a deep breath and said, "Everyone, calm down. We're still alive, aren't we? We're not dead yet. And as long as we're alive, we can figure something out. We're civilized people—if we put our heads together, we'll find a way through this." The crowd quieted, their sobs and murmurs fading into silence. Randy knew someone had to step up, and if no one else was going to do it, it had to be him. This wasn't just Andrew's problem anymore.
