Randy felt a subtle stir in his heart when he heard Stuart complaining about Rhett, but he didn't show any expression on his face. Instead, he asked in a deep voice, "What does this have to do with Rhett? Did he cause this to happen to you?"
Hearing Randy's question, Stuart clenched his fists and said bitterly, "Rhett abandoned me. We ran into savages here. I shot and killed one of them, but another savage stabbed me with a spear. Rhett left me behind, ran off on his own, and wanted me to hold off the other savage!"
