Nine

Julian's POV "I remember the first time you were here you were so bubbly and all over that scheming boyfriend of yours so please, do as you should so this is believable" I spoke up immediately we alighted from the car, the flashing cameras and shocked reactions from everyone around a perfect assurance that we were both noticed just how I wanted us to be. "This tone of yours better stop, or tonight is going to be worse than you can even imagine" She spat back, the fire in her eyes reminding me of what pushed me that night. "Mr.Thorne, is this pretty woman just a date for tonight or someone we should all be concerned about?" A blogger quickly rushed up to us preventing me from replying to her. "We will find out" I replied vaguely slowly slipping my hands into Sienna's own ignoring the way her body froze at the sudden contact. The blogger slowly backed away as she noticed our hands, her eyes glittering like she had just found her ticket to wealth, She quickly pulled out her phone taking so many pictures at once, as if the ones they had all been taking were not enough. "We are in public remember? As believable as it can be" I whispered into her ears as I pulled hr closer to me leaving little space between us. "This better be over soon" She muttered irritably under her breath before plastering the fakest smile I have ever seen on her face. "I hope so too Birdie" I whispered back smirking to myself as she rolled her eyes at my little nickname, Tonight is going to be fun. I moved my attention back to the crowd watching as they all took their fill of the scene in front of them. I wouldn't blame them though, The last time I came for the annual charity gala with a woman was four years ago when Izzy begged so much that she wanted to be my date for the night and well let's just say it was eventful. She couldn't even put herself together for one night and she was caught by a blogger with one of my guests, it was a huge mess to clean up. The tabloids wrote about it for weeks, I forgave her for it but I never took her anywhere as my date again since she couldn't keep it in, she is still my best friend anyways so I can't just be angry at her forever. "Mr.Thorne, Mr.Thorne" The crowd kept yelling, everyone itching to get their chance. "Shall we?" I said calmly ushering the way. "Whatever" She murmured, the fake smile on her face still so perfect I couldn't help but wonder if her facial muscles weren't starting to hurt her. I took my hand out of hers placing it on her waist still maintaining my straight face for the crowd but I couldn't help the little awareness that filled me as she flinched even more like my skin burned her. She hated me, yes but this felt more personal than just her hatred for me. "Has anyone told you that you will be a good actress?" I asked as we moved, her body still so stiff. "No why?" She replied. "Okay then, never mind" I shrugged it off, it wasn't time for discussions anyway especially not when I couldn't tell how she would react to anything I might tell her. ~~~~ “Mr. Thorne.” A familiar voice called out from the crowd. “Ah, Mr. Warren, pleased to see you could make it,” I spoke up, plastering a small smile on my face so he could feel relaxed. “The pleasure is all mine.” He smiled back, reaching out for a handshake which I gladly accepted. “Hello, Beautiful.” He said softly, turning his attention towards Sienna who stood quietly by my side. “Hello.” She replied her smile dropping a little. I didn't understand why until I looked back at him, the hunger in Warren's eyes as they moved down her body suprisingly pissed me off. I guess the manwhore in him has forgotten where he is and who he is standing in front of. "Mr.Warren" I called out in a warning tone bringing his attention back to me. I agree this is a fake arrangement but I cannot stand here and let her get disrespected, She is out tonight with me and therefore I have to respect that. "I will appreciate it if you step away from my woman and stop staring at her like that or you wouldn't have eyes to look at any other woman ever again" I threatened keeping my face and voice plain but I am sure he knew I wasn't bluffing. "Oh I am sorry Mr.Thorne, I just thought.." He stammered quickly adjusting himself. "You thought what?" I shot back. "I don't know, she was just one of the casuals" He quickly responded. "She is not"I spat staring him down, He nodded in response walking away without turning back. I am sure he knows who to mess with and who not to mess with. "Well seems you move with a lot of women, should have warned me about that" Sienna spoke up, a sort of anger in her voice. "Well not exactly, women just have this thing for me and people think I am the one going after them when in essence it is the other way around". "Yeah sure" She scoffed loudly, shaking her head like she couldn't even picture it. "What's the matter, you don't like the idea of someone fawning over me?" I joked. "Oh please, spare me that, this is fake remember" Her face folding like I said something she couldn't even think of doing. "It is just that I have come to realize that my gender is a lot more blind than I thought" "Really Blake? You don't think I am attractive?" I chuckled quietly as we walked further into the hall. "Not even close to it" She shot back. "Well it is quite unfortunate that you have decided to let your hatred for me blind you but that is fine, I have enough women fawning over me so yours doesn't really count" I defended smugly. "Yeah, sure Mr.Thorne, fill your already deflated ego some more," She said dryly. Well at least we are at a civil state, this should get us through the night and make this believable enough.
