Dylan POV
Waking up with my mate in my arms is more than I ever expected it to be, for the first time in my life I felt whole, is like a piece of me that I didn’t know about was missing all this time, that constant unsatisfaction I felt and that made me reckless and disgusted with the world, simply disappeared, was replaced by the constant need to ensure that she, is safe and happy. I guess what they say about the Alpha mate be his strength and his weaknesses is truth, I'm much stronger now that I found her, I can fell Max stronger by the day but in the same time I know there was nothing I wouldn't do to keep her safe, I know she's a strong Alpha but I'm still terrified that anything can happen to her.
She looked so peaceful in her sleep, I stayed there looking at her for some time trying to gather the strength to get up and leave her, I moved slowly to not wake her up, got a piece of paper and left her a message.
It's 5am the pack house starts to wake up, the first people are already on the kitchen, I seat next to my brother and Liam to have breakfast.
"Good morning Alpha Dylan, have you had a pleasant night?" Damien smirks at me
"Morning Beta Damien. Yes, I did! I would also have a pleasant day if you don't piss me off with that Alpha s**t!"
"Where's Pixie?" Liam asked
"She's still asleep, she had a really long day yesterday, I left her a message telling her were we are!"
"She can mind link you now, you know?" Damien asked with a smile. "By the way did you guys fell the change in your auras yesterday on the Luna ritual, both your aura and Pixie's are way more powerful than our dad's or Alpha Zander's ever were. Everyone was talking about that. That and the fact that you are off the market, there are dozens of she-wolfs very sad today thanks to you!"
Damien said playfully
"I did felt it, and also felt that lots of wolves from Silver Moon don't belong on my fan club." I tell him.
"When you returned from school you didn't have many fans on our pack either, except for unmated she wolfs under 25, and now they are really proud of their Alpha. With the other side of the river is even easier, you just have to make their Alpha happy, they adore her. That's why some don't like you, they were at school when Melissa and her minions bullied her, and for them, you are the one to blame." Damien explain
"Why haven't you told me about the bulling back then?" I asked
"Don't put that on me Dylan, you didn't give a f**k about anything other than yourself back then."
"Damien, did you know she was my mate?"
"No, I didn't I wouldn't allow her to hide from you if I did. I knew she was hurt when we were kids, but we never really talked about that and both me and Liam thought it was a kids crush. Our treaty had more to do with the things we saw in the rehab clinic that with your rejection, we both were afraid of ending up with lousy mates so we wanted to have the chance to find them before they find us and decided if we want them or not, but I had no way to know she already had a pretty good idea who her mate was and wasn't thrilled about it!" He finished with a smirk.
I can see he is telling me the truth. That clinic was a great thing for so many wolves, but it wasn't a good influence for them, I think we have to pay close attention to all the teenagers wolves that have been working there, the hurt they are dealing with every day is leaving a mark on them, they are afraid of the mate bond, if this happened with Damien and Pixie it could have happened with the others to, how many of them are hiding from their mates or even rejecting them, this is something I'll have to deal with as soon as possible, I need to get the name of all those kids. But for now we need to end the threat we have on our head.
"I'm going to wake her up, you two call Arthur and Axel we need to get this show on the road!" I tell them taking a tray with pancakes, coffee and fruit with me.
"You know you can mind link them now right?" Liam asked playfully "If you want to score some points add some chocolate sauce to those pancakes!" He winks at me.
"Thanks! I'll be down in 30!" I smiled.
"Not if you are lucky!" Damien answered, and they laughed.
I heard the shower when I opened the door, I left the tray on the balcony table and seat on the couch waiting for her. She come out with only a towel around her body, her scent his alluring to me is a mix of Ylang-ylang, Jasmine, vanilla and citrus.
"Hi, I was going to find you now, you should have woken me up!" she smiles at me. I walk to her, take her in my arms and kiss her, she kisses me back, then stops.
"We need to get out of this room, this mate bond is messing with us!" she laughs.
"With or without mate bond I think you would drive me crazy anyway!" I smirk. "But you're right I need to let you go, go on get dress before I'm all-over you again, and come to the balcony, I brought you pancakes and coffee!" I said to her putting her down.
She come out wearing some skinny dark blue jeans and a white shirt.
"Hum... pancakes with chocolate my favorite, thanks!"
"Don't thank me, Liam told me about the chocolate! Those two really know you!" I'm really sad that my brother and my Gama know more about my mate than I do.
"Of course they do. Both of the boys, Lilly and the twins are the closest thing to siblings I ever had. Most of our childhood and teenagers year we spend it together we know each other darkest secrets!" She laughed.
"Not all of them, apparently!" I smiled.
"What do you mean?" she looked puzzled
"Did any of them knew you thought I could be your mate?" I asked.
"No, not that!" she gave me a sad smile.
"Babe we need to deal with this Silver Moon nonsense, but as soon as possible we need to deal with that to. I was speaking with Damien and I realized that both of you were afraid of finding your mates and maybe that's because all the stuff you saw while working at the rehab clinic, you were to young when you started to work there and there's also lots of other teenagers that did the same, maybe they are facing the same difficulties, we really need to look in to that." I tell her.
"I have been thinking about that, other than Lilly no one else that worked with us at the clinic found their mate in the past 2 years and some of them are over 20 years now!" She looked at me. "Do you think, they can be rejecting their mates or hiding from them like I and Damien were doing?"
"I'm almost sure of it, and if that is true our pack is in danger, if they get chosen mates their pups won't be as strong as they would be if they were from true mates, and that can weaken the pack in a near future." I see she's thinking about it.
"I did this, I never wanted this to happen, the idea was to help wolves in need, I thought I was doing a god thing!" she said full of guilt.
"Hey, babe you did a good think you guys helped up on their feet lots of wolves, most of them not even from our packs, and that was something to be proud of. It left you traumas because you were too young to deal with that level of pain!" I kissed her hand and smiled.
"Let's end this thing with those stupid mutts, and then we take care of our wolves!" She's speaking like a true Alpha.
We went downstairs and in to my office, the guys are already waiting for us.
We plan to send discreet messages to the Alphas we know that are being forced to fight against us to let them know they don't have to and to insure them we found away out of their oath, but we keep that a secret. We also tell them that they should reach out to all the other Alphas they may know that had done the same oath and pass them the info, but only if they think they can trust them, and most important in the day of the battle they should act like nothing had change and go along with Silver Moon, but they shouldn't by any means cross our borders, until they see a sign in the air because if they do so we wouldn't be able to protect them. When they see the sign they all should cross the border and run throw our first and second line of defense, and stay there this will allow Pixie to recognize them, as we hope they will be the only wolves not sharing our link in that area.
Fiona has been working no stop on her potions to uncover scents, so we have enough to keep spraying the borders every hour after we receive the information that they moved.
Before the end of the day we get word that at least more 4 Alphas had been forced in to the blood oath.
We spent the next week training with our warriors and trying to figure out why the hell were they taking so long to attack us, what were they waiting for.
Our borders patrols are reporting daily sightings of rouges at some distance from our borders they seem to be making recognition of the terrain, they have been seen everywhere in an attempt to confuse us but for us there is no doubt that the only viable border for a forceful invasion will be our west border, they will not be stupid to cross human territory with the amount of wolves they are moving. The only borders they can arrive without being notice by humans is West or South, but South is suicide so they will come from the natural park, even if they attack in any other place they can't have the numbers they need.
