16The smaller the wood particles got, the more powerful I felt. And the more pleased I was with myself. When I was a little girl, I didn’t play with dolls. I liked toy guns and Dad’s tools. Nobody would suspect me of using dolls in a covert operation. They’d find no evidence that I had. I took a paper sack from the shelf below the bench. Swept the doll remains into the sack.
