“If I knew where the damn intel is, I wouldn’t even be here, Lewis,” I said, smiling at him. “Do you think Hunter will let me go if I know?” He shrugged his shoulders. “Hunter’s head works in ways normal humans can’t even understand,” he said, his smile confident. I glared at him. This asshole wouldn’t let Anton and Jenny go without getting what they came here for. There’s no other way but to negotiate with him. I had dealt with these kinds of men before, and their stubbornness always annoyed the s**t out of me. With narrowed eyes, I asked him, “if I tell you where the intel is, will you let them go?” Lewis’ smile never faltered. “If you give us the intel, we will.” Bullshit. They’d put a bullet in their heads as soon as they got what they wanted to clean up loose ends.
