Nairu offered his back for Ayeren. She stepped on and climbed up until she reached the c***k. However, the c***k was narrow and could not get her body fit, unless she had to enter using her shoulder first. She went back down.
"What are you doing?" Nairu wondered.
"Koya, go first. Then, Ova and Rara. I will be the last. We don't have time to argue. Go!"
Koya was ready when Ayeren stopped him.
"You cannot enter by moving forward. Should be sideward, shoulder first. And I'm afraid that you cannot take your belongings up there. Yours, too, Nairu."
Koya took his belongings off his back and immediately acted. Nairu helped him up, and when he was on the edge, he used his shoulder to enter half of his body before he pulled Ova. Ova did the same while Koya was already inside of the c***k. Nairu lifted Rara while Ova tried to reach her son's hand. The infected crowd was just a few meters away. They only had a minute, but Ova struggled on reaching her son's hand. Ayeren took Rara and stepped on Nairu's back. She handed him over to Ova. When Rara was finally in, Ayeren went up first then offered her hand to Nairu. She used her left shoulder to hold her weight so she won't fall down. The infected crowd just reached the rock's wall when Ayeren managed to pull Nairu using her right hand. Nairu clung on the edge while the infected crowd tried to catch up his feet. Ayeren pulled him with all her might, until they were finally in the c***k, walking sideways.
"Does any of us have at least one flashlight?" Nairu just remembered that he had his flashlight in the backpack.
There was a silence.
"Did we mess up?" Koya who also failed to think about it, realized he had none.
Ayeren took a deep breath. "There's nothing we can do now."
"At least I have my father's flint. We can have fire when we are out of here." Koya felt ease.
Nairu quietly chuckled.
"Something really strange in this place. It happens also that I have that kind of rock that I keep for long time as a souvenir." It became my pendant." He touched his black necklace made from a plant's fiber while a modified flint hanged on the tip of it.

Inside of the vast foggy place, some concrete, steel and wooden materials formed a construction by themselves without any human help, until they formed into houses, fences and other establishments. Despite its cold and foggy environment, the light from the sun that never went up on the sky, it shone through, until some mountainous clouds absorbed its rays that brought darkness to the rest. Some places had lights on, while everything around was unnoticeably mobile.

Nairu, Ayeren and the Koya's family kept moving sideways in the dark. Sometimes, they had to stop and walked carefully when the rocky ground in the c***k was in an incline direction to the bottom.
"Careful!" Koya told them quietly. "The ground is getting steeper."
"Don't worry, we are almost there." Ayeren responded silently.
Nairu tried to grope Ayeren's hand when he sensed that she just stopped. He thought she got stuck, but then he realized she just fell asleep.
'She talked in her sleep again. Not just simply talked, but she answered,' he thought.
"Are you okay?" Koya who didn't hear any steps from them, asked.
"She fell asleep. I'll try to wake her up since I cannot carry her in this situation," he replied.
"Okay. I think, we just need to rest for awhile. Maybe, she's just exhausted."
"But, standing like a filling inside of the bread is not resting." Nairu didn't know what to do. He doubted to wake her up and to let her sleep in a standing position.
Then, suddenly the ground shook. It woke Ayeren up.
"What happen? Oh, I'm sorry. I think, I fell asleep again."
"There was a movement in the ground." Nairu told her. "Are you okay?"
"Yes." She silently yawned.
Nairu had smelt her breath. He knew that she was still sleepy.
"Rara, are you okay, son? Ova, are you okay?" Koya asked his son and wife. "Okay, let's keep going."
