The movie had been entertaining, but Steve had still found himself distracted by his thoughts. He was unable to get Taylor off his mind. Her lips, her touch, and the way her blue eyes smiled. The very thought of her made his heart ache terribly. He missed her, what they had, what they should have had. It was ridiculous. The woman he had fallen in love with wasn’t real, but he couldn’t stop from loving her all the same. He wanted her back. He wanted her in his arms.
They had driven back to his place after the movie. He had been overly quiet all night. The fact that Maggie noticed. “So quiet this evening.” She said softly placing her hand on his knee. “I haven’t seen you this depressed in years.”
He looked Maggie in the eyes and sighed; he couldn’t do it. If this were God’s plan for
