DAVIDDavid was sick and tired of Nate. It had been two weeks since Iris rejected him for the first time, and yet there he stood in front of David with a large piece of paper illustrating his plan to win her heart. It was a ridiculous plan that would end with Nate dead. Not because his plan was inherently dangerous, but because Iris would kill him for being so damn persistent. David didn't understand how Nate couldn't take the hint, it also angered him how Iris rejected Nate. At first she tried to be nice but slowly became meaner with her responses. Which really bothered David, because in his opinion no one should hurt such a gentle giant as Nate (no matter how annoying he could be). Nate was kind and very much like a puppy. Full of energy and love for everyone. He would grow attached to someone and then proceeded to follow them around all while loving that person unconditionally. This wasn't the fist time David has seen Nate heart broken and obsessive, it has become a reoccurring theme. First it was Charlotte then Mike and finally Iris. David figure this was why he sympathized with Nate, all he wanted was love.
Eventually Nate paused to ask David what he thought of his romantic plan.
"Nate, maybe you should just except that Iris doesn't like you in that way, you're only harming yourself."
Nate sighed and sat on the bean bag chair next to David's desk. "I know, it just really hurts you know? I thought we had something going on."
"You know it's her loss right?"
"What's next? You gonna tell me there are plenty of fish in the sea or what?" Nate laughed.
David was about to say something, when Pete and Lexi walked into the room. They laughed loudly as they opened the door and walked in. It seemed like they hadn't realized David and Nate were there because of the way they jumped when they saw the two.
"Hey Nate how you holding up buddy?" Pete quickly asked.
"Great it's almost as if my heart wasn't shattered into a billion pieces," Nate tried to joke.
Lexi walked over to Nate with a face you usually give to small hurt animals. "Awe Nate, I don't understand why anyone would reject such a cute nice guy like you. It's her loss."
"Ugh you're boyfriend already gave me that quote of the day," Nate sighed as he tried to get out of the bean bag.
"Where you going?" David asked.
"Oh you know, go back to my dorm try not to cry myself to sleep and maybe watch some loony toons to make myself feel better, buy guys," Nate walked out the door.
"Wow he really isn't good with rejection is he?" Pete asked while leaning on his bed.
David nodded in agreement.
"So what were you guys laughing about?" David asked out of curiosity.
"Nothing!" Pete said nervously.
"He lost his keys two weeks ago and hasn't had the guts to tell you, so he's been coming knocking on my door to open the door for him, he found the key today in his shirt pocket," Lexi explained.
David looked over at an embarrassed Pete and chuckled, "What is wrong with you?"
"So many things dude, you have no idea,"
"Well anyway I have to get to class," Lexi began walking to the door "by babe"
David and Pete both responded, "hey, im babe!"
"I don't know dude I'm quite the babe myself!" Pete laughed as he climbed into bed.
"Pete it's 4:30, what are you doing?" David asked a bit worried.
"If Nate can cry himself to sleep then why can't I?"
"What are you gonna cry about?"
"I dropped my eggs this morning and I haven't had time to mourn them,"
"Yeah okay, good night Pete" David turned back to look at his work.
