Leaving Isaac to watch over the house, Molly and her family arrived at the old Joseph family mansion to report to old Mrs. Joseph.
Old Mrs. Joseph had a habit of taking afternoon naps. When she emerged from her room in her pajamas, her expression was grim.
Seeing the three of them dressed so extravagantly, her expression darkened even more.
"If you're coming to see me, it better be important. Otherwise, you know the consequences."
Kennedy had always been afraid of old Mrs. Joseph, and now, hearing her words, he was too scared to say anything.
"What a unuseful man."
Seeing her husband's incompetence, Gemma muttered under her breath. Then, with a smile, she said, "Ma'am, we know you have a habit of napping in the afternoon. If it weren't for something urgent, we wouldn't dare to disturb you."
"Molly, why don't you show the contract to Mrs. Joseph?"
Contract?
Old Mrs. Joseph raised an eyebrow, feeling somewhat surprised.
Could it be that Molly had secured the A8 land so quickly?
That seemed unlikely.
Old Mrs. Joseph knew Eden Wallis quite well. From the beginning, she hadn't held much hope for Molly being able to secure the A8 land. She had only asked her to give it a try.
Old Mrs. Joseph looked over the contract again and again, and the more she looked, the brighter her smile became.
"Well, well, well! I didn't expect you to be so capable, Molly, to actually secure the A8 land!"
With these words from old Mrs. Joseph, several of the Joseph family descendants standing nearby were also surprised.
"Molly actually secured the A8 land? That's impossible."
Alva, in particular, made a sarcastic remark, "Grandma, you'd better make sure you read it carefully. Could this contract be fake?"
Upon hearing Alva's words, Gemma became anxious.
"Alva, what nonsense are you talking? Eden Wallis personally came to our house and signed the contract in front of us. How could it be fake?"
Alva sneered even more. "Eden Wallis is the chairman of Rock Group. Did he come to your house in person to sign the contract? That's just making up stories. Molly has no power or influence. Why would he do that?"
The surrounding members of the Joseph family nodded in agreement, thinking that Alva made sense.
Molly was just an ordinary manager at Joseph Group, not even a senior executive. Plus, with the long-standing feud between the Wallis and Joseph families, even if it were Molly herself or old Mrs. Joseph personally intervening, Eden Wallis might not give face, let alone come to sign the contract in person.
At this point, old Mrs. Joseph also felt that there was something wrong with the contract in her hands.
"Molly, is it true that the A8 land is being sold to us for 13 million?"
It was worth noting that the A8 land was valued at 25 million, but the contract stated that 13 million would be enough. Wasn't Eden Wallis losing too much money?
What was his motive?
The contract seemed too favorable, and the more she looked at it, the more suspicious old Mrs. Joseph became.
Seeing old Mrs. Joseph's skepticism, Gemma quickly explained, "Ma'am, the reason why this contract could be signed isn't entirely because of our Molly."
"The main reason why Eden Wallis was so courteous to us was mainly because he feared Mr. Harrison's reputation."
Old Mrs. Joseph was taken aback. "Mr. Harrison? You mean Clement?"
Gemma nodded smugly. "The first time Molly went to see Eden Wallis, that old guy was shameless and even wanted to lay hands on her."
"But within half a day, Eden Wallis showed up at our house with bruises and apologized. He also personally brought this contract."
"Eden Wallis said he didn't know there was someone influential behind Molly and offended her, so he hoped to make amends through this cooperation and earn Molly's forgiveness."
After Gemma explained it that way, everyone found the situation more reasonable. Molly had no power or influence, so it seemed unlikely that Eden Wallis would fear her. But if Clement was behind Molly, then everything made sense.
Rock Group might be a big company in Valestile City, but in the eyes of the Harrison family, it was nothing. If it weren't for the Harrison family's prestige, the Joseph family wouldn't have needed to step in to secure the A8 land.
Old Mrs. Joseph nodded, her gaze toward Molly softened considerably. "Well done, my dear granddaughter. You've handled this matter beautifully."
"If Mr. Harrison values you so much, then it's best for you to handle the upcoming cooperation between our families."
"Huh? Me? Negotiate?" Molly was reluctant. She didn't even know Clement before. Moreover, if Eden Wallis's situation was indeed orchestrated by Clement, then Molly should have even less reason to engage with Clement.
Alva chimed in, "Grandma, Molly is a married woman. Negotiating with Mr. Harrison might invite gossip. Let me go instead."
Old Mrs. Joseph snorted, "So what if she's married? Mr. Harrison likes Molly, so it's best for Molly to handle it. As for you, mind your own business."
Seeing Molly's discomfort, old Mrs. Joseph spoke earnestly, "Molly, I know marrying Isaac wasn't your choice. If it weren't for your grandfather's meddling, with your looks, you could have married into a wealthy family long ago."
"I used to dislike Isaac, not you. Now's your chance. If you can win over Mr. Harrison, divorcing Isaac won't be a problem for the Joseph family."
"Previously, Grandma just disliked Isaac, not you. Now, the opportunity has arisen. As long as you can secure Mr. Harrison, it's a great chance for you and the Joseph family to turn things around," Gemma's eyes lit up.
"Mom, are you suggesting that Molly can divorce that useless Isaac?" Gemma asked eagerly.
Old Mrs. Joseph replied calmly, "My daughter Molly is beautiful and talented. Marrying someone like Isaac would be too good for him."
"As long as Molly can be with Mr. Harrison, the Joseph family won't have any gossip about the divorce."
The bigger the family, the more they cared about divorces among women.
Molly had been married to Isaac for so many years, partly to fulfill her grandfather's wish and partly to avoid gossip. Now, with old Mrs. Joseph's support, who would dare to gossip?
"Molly, you silly girl, what are you waiting for? Thank your grandmother," Gemma nudged Molly with her elbow.
Molly bit her lip and reluctantly said, "Isaac and I have been married for quite a few years. I don't want..."
Before Molly could finish, old Mrs. Joseph waved her hand to interrupt. "I know what you're thinking, but trust me, Grandma knows best."
"Enough. Call Mr. Harrison now and arrange a meeting to discuss cooperation. Don't worry about anything else."
"As long as you finalize the cooperation between our families, the position of Marketing Director is yours."
Molly got Clement's phone number from old Mrs. Joseph and, in front of everyone, dialed his number.
