It’s quiet. Not the kind that feels heavy. Not the kind that makes you feel like you’ve done something wrong. Just quiet. Sunny is on the floor, chewing something he absolutely should not be chewing. I watch him from the couch, one leg tucked under me, my phone resting on my stomach. “Sunny.” He pauses. Looks at me. Then goes right back to chewing. I stare at him. “You’re actually insane.” His tail thumps against the floor like I just told him he’s the best thing that ever happened to me. I sigh and let my head fall back.
