CHAPTER TWO

Silvia's POV.
The coronation was not until evening, which meant I had a lot of time to try to calm my nerves.
I was really bad at pretending to be calm.
After lunch I took a walk around the pack house with Toby following me. He was wearing his guard uniform, which was black and had the packs crest on it. He looked really good in it.
I had told him he looked great. He told me I looked like I was about to face something terrible.
He was not wrong.
Toby said, "You look nervous " as we walked down the hallway.
I said, "I am fine ". I tried to smile like I meant it.
Toby said, "You have been walking down this hallway a lot and the maids are starting to talk."
I did not say anything. Toby did not say anything either. I was glad he did not push me to talk.
Sienna said, "You are nervous " in my mind.
I told her "Toby does not need to know that."
Sienna said, "He already knows that is why he is here."
I did not know what to say to that so I just let it go.
When we got to my room Toby stood by the door. Inside my dress was waiting for me.
It was beautiful with fabric that shone in the light. The dress had a elegant cut and it was lined with small gold stones that sparkled when I moved.
It reminded me of my mothers wedding dress, which I had only seen in photos.
I felt a little sad when I saw the dress.
I touched the fabric. It felt cool and real. It smelled like cedar, which was nice.
I put the dress on. When I looked in the mirror I had to look away for a moment.
The silver of the dress matched my hair and the gold stones shone in the light. I looked like my mother, which was nice but a little sad.
Sienna said, "She would be so proud of you."
I put on my mothers necklace, which had a crescent moon pendant. My hands were steady which was good.
I stood in front of the mirror and told myself "I am strong I can do this."
At first the words did not feel true. When I said them again I started to believe them.
There was a knock at the door. Toby said, "Your carriage is waiting, Princess."
I. It felt good.
I opened the door. Toby was standing there in his uniform. He looked great. He was smiling.
I asked him "Is it too late to run "
He said, "It is too late Ava has been getting everything ready and she will not let you run away."
I said, "That is terrifying."
Toby offered me his arm. I took it. We walked down to the carriage. Then we went to the town square.
The square was beautiful with lights and people
I got out of the carriage. I just stood there for a moment taking it all in.
People were. I heard them say that I looked like my mother and that the moon was full on the night I was born.
I kept walking. Toby and Ava were with me.
We walked to the front of the ballroom, where Antonio and the other elders were waiting.
The ballroom was amazing with lights and flowers
My fathers throne was at the front. It looked great.
I sat down on the throne. I felt a little sick.
Then Elder Elizabeth gave me the royal staff and it felt heavy.
The other elders gave me jewels and each one felt like a part of something important.
Antonio gave me the crown, which had a moonstone in it.
When he put the crown on my head the moonstone started to glow.
The people in the crowd. I felt the light on my skin.
I asked Antonio "Is it supposed to do that?"
He looked surprised. Elder Elizabeth was smiling.
She said, "The Moon Goddess has given us a blessing."
The crowd was quiet. Then Elder Elizabeth said, "I present to you your Alpha, your Queen, Silvia Florence."
The crowd. It was really loud.
I stood up. I faced my people. For the time in a long time I felt like I could handle everything.
Sienna said, "We were born for this."
I said it back, to her. I started to believe it.
