The place we were meeting was a farmhouse. It was three hours north of the city by road. The road went through the kind of countryside that starts out normal and then changes. The trees get thicker the roads get narrower. The light is different. I have learned to recognize this kind of place. It is where the wolves live.
It does not feel threatening. It just feels different. The air feels special. I first felt this way when I was standing at the edge of the Southern Packs settlement. I got lost in the woods. Ended up there. Now I think of this feeling as being in a place that knows what it is.
