Vita’s POV
I don't know what happened. I'm not even sure if I'm still dreaming.
Robert showed up in my room in the middle of the night and said some strange things to me.
I looked at Robert in the moonlight through the window. He looked flustered, not at all calm and rational as usual.
"Don't hesitate, come with me. You'll be killed if you don't go."
Be killed? I haven't heard of any recent wars with other packs. Besides, who can kill me now that I'm living in Alpha's castle?
"Do you know why Phil brought you back? Do you know why Phil cares about your body so much? Do you know what's hidden in that forest?"
I had no idea what Robert meant, but somehow I felt uneasy and afraid.
Robert seemed to recognize my hesitation, so he grabbed my hand and said, "I'm going to show you somewhere. I'm going to show you something. If you watch it, you'll know."
I'm still on the fence. Robert has been transformed into a Wolf. He wrapped his tail around my waist and forced me to sit on top of him and started running. He was going so fast that I had to lean down and throw my arms around his neck to keep myself balanced.
"Where are we going?"
"The f*******n Forest."
"But Phil only told me yesterday that I was f*******n to go back into the Forest..."
"I had a servant tell Phil that Dad was waiting for him at the training ground. He's left the castle now, so he won't find us. '
My mind was buzzing with fear at his words! How dare he cheat Phil!
But now that it's done, I can't regret it. I know Robert has always looked down on me, but he has never really bullied me. So I'm sure he won't hurt me.
In about ten minutes, Robert had taken me to the edge of the Forest. But we found what looked like a man standing at the end of the road.
Almost immediately, I heard the familiar deep voice, "Where are you going?"
For a split second, Robert reverted to his human form and put his arms around my waist, shielding me behind him. I heard him whisper an oath.
The man came along slowly. I had to bow my head and say, "Alpha..."
I nudged Robert gently, suggesting that he say hello and apologize to Phil. After all, they are brothers, and Phil can't be mad at him for such a trivial prank. But Robert did not move, obstinately blocking me behind him.
I felt as if the air were still. As Phil approached us step by step, I was keenly aware that Robert's body was shaking and he almost fell to his knees. I hurried to help him, only to find that his face was pale and blood was oozing from the corners of his mouth.
Phil is exerting Alpha power on him!! This is Alpha's unique ability! If we keep this up, he's gonna bleed to death!
I don't know what made Phil so angry. I let go of my grip on Robert and crawled to Phil on my knees, crying, "Alpha! It's all my fault! I begged Robert to take me to the Forest! Please, don't punish him any more!"
Robert could no longer support his body and was half kneeling on the ground. But he didn't give up, and I saw him even want to pull out his sword again and run at Phil. But how can Pack members resist Alpha? I didn't even have time to despair before I saw that the bones in Robert's body had pierced his skin and that his blood was pouring out of him in a river of blood on the ground.
I stopped thinking about Phil and lunged at Robert. The moon shone down on Robert's pale face, and his blond hair seemed to fade. With his last strength, he raised his hand and gently touched my eye. "Don't cry," he said. You look even more stupid when you cry."
At this point, I realized that my tears were already streaming down my face.
I tried to call Robert's name, but my throat seemed blocked and I couldn't say anything.
The next moment, I was in a familiar embrace.
"Go to sleep." I heard Phil say this to me, as if he'd put me to sleep when I had nightmares as a child.
His voice seemed magical. I suddenly felt sleepy. I tried to wake up, but I couldn't resist the sudden sleepiness and ended up in total darkness.
