CHAPTER NINE : CAME TO SEDUCE THE CEO

1246 Words
ALINA’S POV My jaws locked hard as I stared at the hospital receptionist. “Oh I’m sure you’re here for an interview,” she said sarcastically, as her eyes trailed down my clothes in a judging look. It took everything in me not to wrap my arms around my body. I knew the pink skirt I wore along with the corporate top was too tight with just a button away from my boobs being on show, but what was I supposed to do? They all belonged to Yulia and she was two sizes smaller than me and I had no time to go shopping for clothes. “Yes I am,” I gritted. She rolled her eyes, sighing like I was a disturbance. “And I’ve told you already our CEO does not conduct interviews personally so get out before I call the security to drag you out,” she hissed. “And by the way, I’ve seen women like you a thousand times already. Coming in here for fake interviews only to try and seduce the boss. You must wish to be the next Miss Orion so badly. Maybe come up with a better lie next time,” she spat in disgust, a scoff leaving her lips as she went back to the computer before her. Her words sent rage boiling through me. I could feel the mocking gaze of the small crowd forming around us. I clenched my teeth, tightening my hands into a fist to keep myself calm. “I just need the location of his office. I told you already that I’m here for a job. Or please just kindly give him a call, I swear I’m not lying, he’s expecting me, this is my appointment,” I said stretching my hands out to hand her the letter Kade had sent this morning. Her gaze snapped to the paper in my hands as she snatched hope rose in my chest watching her read it, but then, it was squashed the next second as the loud sound of the paper being torn into two echoed through the entire room. I watched with parted lips as she tore it into pieces and then she flung it at my face. “Sluts these days have really graduated into making fake appointment letters. How desperate can you be?” She yelled, attracting more attention. I breathed hard, my hands clenched around my bag, as I stood stiffly. “So you won’t leave right?” She hissed, as her fingers moved to press a button before her. Two sturdy men showed up in less than a minute. She watched me, her lips curved into a smug smirk as she spoke. “Security, drag her out of here. She faked appointment letters to try and seduce the boss.” My cheeks heated in flames at her words, I could feel my fingers sharpening into claws and I wondered what the consequences would be if I slashed her throat. I barely had any time to comprehend what was happening because the next minute I was being dragged like some criminal. “Wha…what are you doing? Stop!” I gritted my teeth as I tried to pry my hands away all the while the receptionist smiled in satisfaction like she had a personal vendetta against me. “Drag her out!” She yelled. But right before they could take another step towards the door, a loud masculine voice came echoing through the room as they froze. “Not another step,” the voice yelled followed by. “Let go of her.” The receptionist's face paled instantly as she ran from her desk rushing towards the newcomer with a fake smile plastered on her cheeks. “Sir, it’s good that you’re here. This woman here, she’s trying to seduce…” He disregarded her words completely as he walked past her, and moved to where I stood. His beautifully sculpted face was the first thing that caught my eye as he stood before me. “Miss Tarius,” he greeted in a stoic fashion that only made him look hotter. Was he Kade’s cousin? He definitely was. “Sir, I’m so sorry for coming late, there was traffic and then your receptionist…” “There’s no need for that Miss Tarius, please this way,” he said professionally as he cut me off. A strange knot twisted in my belly and I nodded slamming my lips shut. As I calmly followed him towards the elevator, I did not miss the hatred and anger in the receptionist's gaze as she watched us in embarrassment. “I heard you were looking for a healer, actually your cousin recommended I apply here, I’m sure you must know that and…” “There’s no need for all these explanations Miss Tarius,” he said in that robotic manner again cutting my rambling. And just then, the elevator finally landed and the door opened as he led me towards a row of offices. He stopped before a large door, and then, he knocked on it, making me frown in confusion. Why did he need to knock I thought he owned the… “Come in.” A deep yet eerily dark masculine voice echoed from inside. And just at that second, he pushed the door open as the sweetest scent ever assaulted my nose. DRAVEN’S POV A sweet yet unfamiliar scent hit me immediately as I raised my head from my computer and took in the figures before me. A sweaty female stood, her clothes sticking to her figure at all the right places as she stared at me with wide eyes, frozen lips parted in shock. “MATE,” I heard Soren roar through our link as I cursed out loud, “f**k!” I recollected myself easily, putting on a steel expression. “And you are?” I growled, my hands tightened around the edge of my desk as I struggled, sweat dripping down my forehead to steady myself and ignore whatever was running through me. Her lips snapped shut in surprise. “Alina Tarius,” she muttered through those full red lips that I struggled to divert my attention away from. But the second her name left her mouth, my gaze flared wide as I stared at those familiar blue eyes and they matched perfectly to the face of a man I’ve not seen for almost a decade now. Disgust curled through my veins watching her, and she saw it clearly in my eyes because an expression akin to lust flickered past her gaze. “Zane Tarius little princess, I almost thought you lost your way here,” I spat in revulsion. Her eyes flared at the mention of her father's name telling me I was right. She was his daughter. So she was the woman I was supposed to interview. Her lips parted like she wanted to retort but she snapped them shut, shot back, and turned to face Jack who stood beside her quietly. “Mr Orion, please when will the interview start? I would really like to get on with it,” she gritted. “Mr Orion?” I hissed. Jack's eyes widened in fear and panic as he shook his head, his hands raised up. “No…No, I’m sorry ma’am, but I think you’re mistaken, I’m not Mr Orion, they must have been a mix up. That right there is the boss,” he muttered, as he pointed towards me.
