Klaus' POV
I can't believe I'm going to be a father very soon, like I'll have someone to call me "dad". Just the thought of that makes my heart to do a series of summersaults. Mum is going to be very happy when she gets the news and I pray she gets along with Hazel. I love Hazel very much and I won't miss this golden opportunity to tame her and make her mine forever.
When I get into the hospital premises, I get out of the car and signal the nurses to bring a stretcher and almost immediately, a stretcher is brought and Hazel is taken into the hospital on it. She's taken into the emergency ward and I let out a heavy sigh of relieve when I see Dr. Patrick enter the ward. I pace about the corridor restlessly praying in my mind for God to keep Hazel and our unborn baby safe. I need them in my life.
One hour later
I abruptly stand up from the chair I was sitting on when I see Dr. Patrick walk out of the ward towards me.
"Please tell me they're both okay"
"Calm down Klaus, they are doing okay" He confirms and I chuckle lightly.
"Really?"
I ask and I feel tears burning in my eyes.
"Yeah, come with me"
I follow him into another ward and I'm surprised to see Hazel laying on the bed. There are machines and a big screen in the room.
"Hey"
I call as I sit beside her and plant a kiss on her forehead. She smiles... wait, she smiles!
Yay... That's encouraging.
"Are you ready?"
"Really for what?" I ask surprised
"To see your baby"
I open my eyes in shock.
"Really?"
"Yeah, but it's just a few weeks old so you won't see much"
"I don't mind Doctor, just let me see it already"
"Alright then"
He applies a special gel in Hazel's palms and she rubs it on her tummy. The doctor makes a few connections and puts a transducer on her tummy.
"Look at the screen" He instructs and we both look at the screen. All I see is a black and white image which is very rough with an almost triangular figure.
"Look below that triangular figure"
"I do as instructed and smile when I see a very tiny figure with a large head. I chuckle lightly and kiss Hazel's hands.
"Wanna listen to it's heart beat?".
"Yes please"
"He does his magical connections again and suddenly the sound of a heart beat fills the entire room.
"That's its heart beat?"
"Yeah, your baby is very much alive and kicking Mr Arthur. I'll leave you two alone for now."
"Thank you"
"It's nothing"
He leaves the ward and I turn to Hazel who is smiling in tears. This is the first time I'm seeing Hazel getting emotional and it totally takes my heart away.
"He's gonna be a tough guy, just listen to his heart beat, strong and confident"
"You want a son?"
"Any one is fine by me Hazel. Girl or boy, any will do. All I want is a baby"
"I'm sorry I lied to you earlier"
"That's not important Hazel, all I want is for you to give me a chance to prove my worth. Allow me take care of you and our unborn baby and I promise you won't regret it baby. Please give me the chance to treat you like the Queen you are"
"Puh-lease Klaus, just quit the sermon already. Do whatever you want to do and leave me the hell alone"
Typical Hazel. Good just had to give me the toughest woman in the world to tame.
"Thank you"
"Can you please take me home now?"
"Let me get the Doctor"
I leave the ward and later on come back in with Doctor Patrick.
"Hazel you need to take very good care of yourself. You're in the first trimester of pregnancy and the chances of having a miscarriage are very high so you need to be very careful. Eat healthy, get enough rest and avoid stressing up yourself. Stay healthy for you and your baby"
"I'll do just that doctor, thank you"
"Good. Your next appointment is on the seventeenth, that's two weeks from now. Come along with Mr Arthur. For now, you need to come with me and get her medicine" The doctor instructs and I turn to Hazel.
"I'll be right back"
I follow the doctor to his office.
After clearing the bills and buying Hazel's medicine, I take her back home and makes sure she eats and drinks her medicine before I tuck her in bed.
Yes, I tuck her in bed. Romantic right?
And who says pregnancy isn't a blessing?, he or she should fall down and die.
When she falls asleep, I kiss her forehead and leave the house. She's gonna move in with me sooner or later.

I'm utterly shocked but excited to reach home and meet my mother cooking dinner. She didn't even tell me she was going to come over. I wonder why she's here, or...did Craig already tell her about the pregnancy?.
Of course not, we weren't even sure if it was fine when we separated. Mum what are up to this time?. I ask rhetorically as I go and hug her from behind.
"My sweet mummy" I call as I peg her cheek.
"My favourite person in the world" she faces me and plants a kiss on my forehead.
"I heard that and I'm offended" says Craig as he approaches us. I wonder why he's so fun of my house these days.
"Someone seems to have fallen in love with my house"
"Puh - lease, get over yourself. I'm only here because mum asked me to come"
"Oh, so mum...what's the occasion?"
"Must there an occasion before I visit my son?"
Mum!. She's always frustrating me with her questions.
"Of course not mum. It's just unusual"
"I know it is my love, the truth is, I came so I could cook for you and your brother. I'm sure you miss my meals"
That really does warms my heart. I miss my mum's meals very much and I'm dying to get a taste of it already.
"Can I get a taste mum?"
"No Klaus, go and freshen up while Klaus and I set the table for dinner"
"Mum..."
"Go!"
I grudgingly go upstairs to my bedroom were I take a cold bath and put on a pair of black sweatpants and white singlet. On my feet,I have on a pair of black socks and leather slippers. I take my phone and when I get down stairs to the diner, I meet mum and Craig waiting for me with the table already set. As I'm about to take a seat beside Craig, mum stops me.
"Take the head seat"
"But mum..." I try to protest but she cuts me off.
"Just do as I say son" I obediently take the head seat and we all start to eat.
"Geez Klaus , you look exactly like dad now"
So...Craig just had to mention it.
"He's the photocopy of your father"
And mum just had to confirm
"Oh come on, we all know Craig looks like dad more than I do"
"No way, look I've got mum's fingernails and her lips and..."
"He trails on and I can't help but laugh very hard. Craig should've been a lawyer,he's so good at arguing even if it's so obvious. He hasn't only gotten my father's looks but his sanguine personality.
Cheerful, down to earth and lively. Sometimes I wonder how my father survived in this cruel business world with such a personality. He was too soft spoken and open but for me, well... I am the way you think I am.
"Wherever your father is, I'm sure he's very proud of you boys"
"And you too mum, he's very proud to have a very brave and loving wife like you"
Craig compliments and mum smiles with tears glittering in her eyes.
"I love you both very much"
"We love you too mum, more than you can ever imagine"
"Now dig in, I made this specially for you boys so don't disappoint me"
"Trust me mum, we won't"
I serve myself with some rice and curry. I can't wait to taste it.
"So Klaus, are you the one responsible for Emerald's pregnancy?"
Craig just chooses this moment to make things very awkward for me. Now mum's gonna bombard me with questions.
"Ugh, Craig" I groan in frustration.
"What?, I've been waiting for you to tell me ever since but you haven't so I had to ask"
"Boys I'm lost, who is Emerald and why is she pregnant?"
