Chapter 6The next morning, I’m just getting settled at my desk when Melanie arrives, hauling her duffel bag. “Morning!” I smile. “Morning,” she replies, shifting the bag on her shoulder. “Listen, what are you doing tonight?” “Nothing, why?” “I have a game. Would you like to come? I can get you a comp.” “Oh!” I smile. “Josh is going too,” she says. “If you want, you can head over with him after work.” I can’t help feeling slightly disappointed that I’m not the only one from the office that Melanie invited, but I wouldn’t pass this chance up, nonetheless. “Sounds good,” I say. “I’d love to go, thank you.” Melanie passes my desk at four o’clock with her duffel bag in tow. “Hey,” she says. “Catch.” She tosses me a black T-shirt.
