Chapter 10The next morning, Josh stops by my desk on his way in.
“Morning!” he says.

“Wanna go to happy hour tonight?” he asks, leaning on the cube wall.
“Oh, I’d love to—but I promised a friend I’d take her out to the bar tonight. She’s just coming out and really wants to meet someone,” I reply.
“Aw, that’s sweet. Okay, cool,” he says.
Melanie comes up behind him.
“Good morning!” She grins.
“Hey, Mel!” Josh smiles. “I was just trying to get Maya here to come out to happy hour tonight, but she’s ditching us.”
I turn to Melanie.
“I have a friend who’s just coming out, and I’m taking her to Meow Mix tonight in the hopes that she’ll start meeting people.”
