How it all began

My name is Emily Jenkins and I am a freshly single woman, ready to conquer the world. I am currently living with my parents until I can stand on my own two feet. Yes, living with my parents I might as well be back in high school. Staying in my old room, I recall the rambunctious teenager I use to be. Those were the good old days, just being a kid with no worry in the world. Hanging out with my best friend Jen Osborn, going to school, parties, and eating all the junk food that we could in one night. Then bam you are a senior in high school having college applications thrown at you. You think you have everything figured out, what you want to be, how your life is going to turn out. Then your last night out hanging with all of your friends, someone catches your eye. You’re just a girl that looked at a guy not having a care in the world. This is where your life turns upside down, and inside out. With just one word he has you swooning over him, he is the only thing on your mind. After that night you talk every day, see each other on weekends. Then out of nowhere the truth smacks you in the face when right in front of you there he is with another girl in his arms. You decide to confront him then notice that the woman is wearing a ring on the precious little ring finger. Slap in my face, I don’t know what to do the feeling of emptiness rushes over me. Why me? How could he do this to me? He told me that he loved me? This my dear is called a player! I call Jen frantically crying not able to breathe, she can not understand a word I am saying. “slow down Emily, just breathe, I can’t understand what you are saying” Jen says over the phone. “He is cheating Jen, I saw him with another woman, and she had a ring on her finger”. “I am coming over, with a gallon of ice cream” Jen replies. Without a friend like Jen, I don’t know what I would do, probably sulk under the covers until I died. Just because a guy is a smooth talker, doesn’t mean he is the right one for you.
