The moment the words left my mouth, I pushed myself to my feet.
Every instinct screamed that this was a terrible idea.
I had willingly stepped into the tiger's den, shut the door behind me, and then reached out to grab it by the tail. There was no pretending this was anything but dangerous now. If I showed even the slightest hint of fear, Auric would smell it. He always did.
So I planted my feet firmly against the polished wooden floor and stared him down, refusing to look away.
