Emery’s POV
Everything was dark.
Penrod had ordered the rogues to blindfold us when he moved us from the first truck into a second one. At that time, there was a distinct smell of salt in the air so I had thought we were near the salt pans when we changed vehicles.
The second vehicle was the one that had taken us to our current location and then all 21 of us had been offloaded and moved into a small room which is where we currently were.
There wasn't any light sneaking into my blindfold so I could tell that this small room was very dark. The ground in the room was damp. The room was very drafty as if the windows didn't have any glass covering them and to top it off, it was very cramped in the small room, which only added to the reasons why I was feeling grumpy.
