I looked on disappointedly as Ren continued to try and defend her selfish actions while Stephen was unsurprisingly doing nothing to defend her. He had always been a coward, so him just standing by and watching her dig herself into a deeper hole was expected.
She must have felt the weight of all the eyes in the room on her because she suddenly stopped sputtering her attempt at finding a plausible excuse for her actions.
