THE UNSEEN EYES

When Annie woke up covered in dirt and dry leaves, it was extremely dark around her. She could see nothing but darkness. She called for help, "Is anyone there? Help me!" She even called her friends for help. "Mark, Nick, Elle, Amanda, are you guys there? Can you hear me? Help!"

After walking for some time, she saw a light coming from the end of the dark woods. As she saw the light, she ran towards it, but there she saw a horrific monster with three eyes, blood spitting out of its mouth. It was so horrible and ugly, and it was angrily growling at her. She became so terrified and frightened that she could say nothing but run to save her life. She ran as fast as she could, and the horrific monster was chasing her. Suddenly, a piece of wood came in her way, and she fell down. The horrific monster was trying to eat her, staring at her with its hungry and angry eyes. Annie was even more afraid, saying her prayers. Then suddenly, a boy appeared out of nowhere and helped her by scaring the monster away with a burning stick. The beast ran away, and Annie was saved.

Annie: (to the boy) Thank you, you have saved my life. Otherwise, I would have been killed today. Well, who are you? And what are you doing here?

Boy: My name is Neil, and I live here.

Annie: In this horrific forest?

Boy: Yeah, this horrific forest is my home.

Annie: Are you normal or not? Don’t you get scared of all these monsters, beasts, and terrible creatures?

Boy: Not at all.

Annie: So, how many years have you been living here?

Boy: For centuries, I guess.

Annie: What?

Boy: I mean, it feels like centuries, but at least 10 years. I was abandoned by my parents when I was a kid and have lived here ever since. This is my home.

Annie: Do you know why your parents abandoned you here?

Boy: I don't know. Maybe because they didn't want me.

Annie: That's sad.

Boy: I know. Okay, now tell me, what are you doing here?

Annie: I am Annie, and my friends Elle, Mark, Nick, and Amanda were going on a trip by bus, but our bus ran out of fuel. So, we had to walk. We got tired and rested near the lake. But then…

Boy: But then what?

Annie: I heard something very strange, like someone was trying to say something to me, but I couldn't hear it clearly. Have you ever heard something like that?

Boy: No, not at all. It must be your imagination!

Annie: Yeah, I also thought that, but then I followed the sounds and saw a woman covered in a cloak sitting in the woods. She seemed like she was trying to say something to me, but when I removed her cloak, it was nothing but bats. Then I fell into the dark woods. I woke up and tried to find someone and found this monster.

Boy: Oh, that's strange!

Annie: Yeah, very strange! Oh, sorry, I talk too much, right?

Boy: Not at all. It has been years since anyone came here, so I never spoke to anyone. Well, where are your friends going?

Annie: We're going to Lord's Lady Palace for our trip. Sounds horrific, right?

Boy: Can I give you some advice, if you don't mind?

Annie: Yes, of course!

Boy: You should be more careful from now on.

Annie: Why?

(Elle, Mark, Nick, and Amanda arrive)

Elle: Glad we found you! Where have you been?

Annie: (thinking that if she told them about the incident, they would not go to the palace) Yeah, I'm fine. Everything is fine. I just fell and got dirt on my clothes.

Nick: Are you insane? Anything could have happened to you!

Annie: But nothing happened! Well, let me introduce you to our new friend, Neil!

Amanda: What are you talking about?

(Annie looks behind but no one is there)

Annie: He was here! I don't know where he went.

Nick: Stop your imagination and come to reality. No one can come to this godforsaken forest and palace except us, so there’s no one here. Look!

Annie: But he was here! (thinking where did he go)

Elle: Okay, enough. Let's go, guys.

Mark: Yeah, let's go. It will be good for us to reach our destination as soon as we can. (frightened, he said)

Annie: Yeah.

(They all leave)
