Eric guides us half a block way to small restaurant called Takumi. He only has to show up and the hostess eyes light up in recognition and arranges for a waitress to help us immediately. The waitress seats us in a cozy corner of the sushi bar. The decor is very modern with lots of black granite with silver accents. Beautiful traditional Japanese lanterns hang from the ceiling, with ancient scrolls on the wall and several Kanji characters engraved into sections of the marble walls. This place is quite a step up from the all-you-can-eat sushi bars that Topaz and I frequent together. A black enamel teapot of green tea and two stout tea cups are already waiting there for us.
