Throwback

2058 Words
After a tiring two rounds of clearing the Obstacle course, I headed back to the domain and had another change of clothes. Ibsetbrhe gemstone pouch that I had stored earlier and set it on the settee table and I observed them closely. Unknowingly, my third eye opened up and I could see the shimmer of the gems from a distance and when I inspected it closer, I saw that the poor quality ones do not shimmer as brightly as the good quality ones. Secondly, there were some hairline cracks of some sort within the poor quality gems but the good quality ones do not have a c***k but there were some impurities or blemishes in the gemstones itself. Then, as suddenly as the shimmering came, it went away and I sort the pieces according to their quality. "Hmm, Micheal was able to conjure up the good quality ones but the thing is to spend time to evaluate the pieces with Ceres." "But what happened just now? How could u see the shimmering differently than earlier? Was it due to the sunlight that happens to shine on the balcony? " I thought to myself while Ceres answered that my third eye opened up temporarily and this enabled me to see the difference in the shimmer and their quality. "Right now there are a lot of poor quality gemstones in the Fusion Chamber, could I duplicate them instead of fusing them to make into fair quality ones then upgrade every stage until I get the perfect ones?" I knew the answer already but just wanted to try out my luck even though the process of duplicating the gems were close to nil. Hahaha. "No, Audemars. For gemstones, you are unable to duplicate them. The answer is simply too complex and it is best we do not touch on the subject again." "Do you want to enter the subconscious mind so that I could show you the images of your young self together with the man?" "You could learn a few things from there as well and maybe you could copy down their recipes and the things that are needed to further expand your factories?" Hearing the suggestion from Ceres, I quickly agree and went to sit down cross-legged on the settee area and began to focus on my breathing and thoughts. Soon, I was flying through a vortex and arrived at the courtyard of a thatched house which was larger than the current one that we had built for our town. The young boy, who was then my old self was sitting on the front porch together with the young man and sipping some drink from a jar that the young man was hugging. It seemed that the drunk seemed rather intoxicating as both of their faces were slightly flushed. "Hiko-sama, we will enter the realm of mind after this, alright? We already had our heavy meal and there are so many things we need to do there." the young boy said to the young man. "Himura, your realm of mind would not be going anywhere, so we could have another few rounds of this umeshu and once we had done with this jar we could enter, alright? So what are your plans for today?" The young man replied and was chuckling to himself as he patted the jar that he was hugging. Seemed that the jar was still half empty and it would be some time before they enter their meditative state and into their realm of mind. Such a long name for the realm. Luckily I don't have to add any other name extensions to it. "Hiko-sama, we would be doing the distilling of the extract and essence for the flowers, fruits, woods and resin. After that, we would be preparing the rest of the products that we intend to produce for the girls in the production plants." I watched the young boy and the young man chatted a while more while I was checking out the surroundings. The houses there were pretty simple and there were sliding door instead of those swinging ones. Same goes to the windows and there is a layer of paper that acts like the layers for the windows and doors. Could someone simply punch a hole at the corners and peep through what the occupants were doing? Hmm, such a weird design but very practical for this type of housing I guess. I saw several longhouses which could represent production plants as they were discussing earlier and upon closer inspection, I find that it was true. The production plants had a rather low roof about 10 feet in height and there was ample ventilation. The floors were lined with mortar and were quite smooth and easy to maintain. The structures were made from half bricks and half wood, much like our brick houses in the first and second cluster. A walk around the production plants revealed several of the new products that I had not seen before. The group of ladies were making something they looked like flour but upon closer look, the flour seemed to have a strong lemon fragrance. I saw something similar to the body soap that the ladies were making but had used some kind of powder where they had heated over a big flat wok and then mix with the ingredients of the bar of soap. Then once the mix had been coagulated and cooled, they brought it to kind of circular device and I peered from the top as there was some blades in them and a handle where it was used to crank the blades. I heard the ladies were talking about a blender and this must be the device they were taking and they slowly cranked the handle to turn the blades inside it. The contents were somehow crushed into granules and were transferred to another blender with a smaller capacity and faster blade rotations. The end result was powdery stuff that could be used to wash clothes by using a weird hand-cranked machine shaped like a horizontal keg. From the looks of it, our laundry bar works just as fine and had lesser processes to produce. Right now, it would be best not to disrupt the operations for our own factories as it might bring some undesirable hiccups along the way. I went over to the other production plants on the ground and found that the organisation of the process were pretty neat. It was quite organised and easy to move around the estates as the rows of production plants were built alongside one another and were equally sized. Somehow it strikes quite a resemblance to ours but had a mix and match of several building around the factories as well as Granary, stables and the cold storages. Luckily, for our town, the heavy industries such as charcoal and pig feed processing were situated at the northernmost end of the town square. This gives more room for expansion soon in the near future and we happen to get more ideas for expansion right here and now. I went over to one of the production plants and saw that the workers were making some kind of paste that they had placed inside a round porcelain container with a removable lid. The smell was enticing enough and when I moved closer I discovered strange markings which soon translated to English. It was toothpaste and it was one of the beauty products. I noted the ingredients that were pasted at the front of the table, which I presumed belonged to the line leader and made some notes with the journal and ink that I had with me all along. The ingredients were 55 pints of unscented coconut oil. 55 pounds of pure unbaked baking soda and 2 pints of peppermint essence. I watched how the workers prepared the main ingredients inside one large steel cauldron and had a large paddle stirrer as the contents were placed inside gradually. The ingredients were mixed in batches and once the ingredients were properly mixed, the other workers begin to fill the porcelain pieces to the brim and covered it with the removable porcelain lid. On the lid, there were some markings which turned itself to English when I read it. I smiled when I saw this product and it would really be made into a fine addition. I then moved on to the next production plant and saw that the workers were again, putting some kind of thick paste inside one of a round porcelain ware with a removable lid and from the looks of it, it looked like a kind of pomade for men. It was indeed true...! I checked out the ingredients and found it close to what the upper-classmen used to apply on their moustaches and some even put on their hair to make it straight and slick...! I went over the ingredients and noted down as follows. 2 tablespoons of granulated beeswax, melted in a saucepan and added 3 tablespoons of coconut oil. After it had cooled down, add 2 teaspoons of bentonite clay and added 5 drops of resin essence as Myrrh, Frankincense, Pine, Fir, Olbinam, Agarwood or Balsam using the glass eyedropper. It seemed that the ingredients were meant to be for a single round porcelain ware. I searched everywhere but I can't find the bulk ingredient list like the one for the toothpaste. In that case, I am sure it would need to be multiplied by pounds if I were to have it mass-produced. After getting these few ingredients, I went to the next building and saw that the workers were handling similar equipment as the previous few. I saw the long list of instructions on how to make the new product and saw that it needs the following ingredients. 1 cup of coconut and olive oil each and added 4 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and mixed them all up in a mixing bowl until it became sort like a paste. This would be able to produce a type of facial cleanser (that's what it says on the list of paper) and the essence could be changed accordingly. Again I saw the words coconut and I find that it is hard for us to procure such coconuts since they only existed in some coastal areas in England. Even when Marcel had travelled to Flamborough, he still had not returned with coconut since. The last time we all checked was the location of an island off the coast of South Devon. It seems that someone has to make a trip there and get a whole load of coconuts for us to start planting them in our town. "Audemars, the coconut trees are definitely bountiful in Burgh Island, off South Devon. It's approximately 300 miles from here and it would likely take about 96 hours of on and off travel by horse-driven wagon. It would take about a week to and fro our town to that place to acquire the coconuts needed for planting." "Hmm, that's a long shot but in pretty sure that Alicia the Alchemist might be able to think about something to substitute the missing ingredients from this list." I thought to myself as I tapped the journal lightly jb my hand as I exit and walked to another section of the production plants where a nice aroma was wafting from it. "Hmm, this area must be for consumables while the others were not. They were segregated so the foods and non-foods would not mix together in a cluster. How thoughtful..." I thought to myself as I crossed the lawn and went to some similar-looking buildings where I would be able to see some workers who were walking in and out from them. =*= Dear friends and fans, If you discover any grammatical errors along the way, we would appreciate if you would be able to point them out as part of helping us to keep this novel as perfect as possible.
