Rounds

"Dear... Are you alright? You seemed to be talking to yourself and I think I heard you were talking in your sleep even. Are you feeling okay right after the meditation process last night?" "Don't worry dear, I am alright. I can't say much to you at this present moment but I would bring you to a place where anything and everything is possible." " I would like to show you how the future is like but the main thing is that I need to work on my meditation. It would be a seamless transition when the time comes for me to show you about the things in the future." Soon my dear... Pretty soon." I reassured to Heather that I was fine when an engineer came right to me and asked nonchalantly, "Your Majesty, I heard you mentioning clearing the obstacles within 6 minutes." "That's quite true, Your Majesty. Our Shadow units were able to clear the those within the stipulated time and with full combat gear as well." "Would you like to go once again and this time without the sack of sand behind your back?" the engineer suggested and I told him that I would make the same way I did with the sack of sand in about 15 minutes time. At least I would be able to catch my breath for now. "How many times do your guys clear RedCoc? Do you do it every day as part of your training?" I asked as I was intrigued by the way the Obstacle was designed and how effective it would be to train one's agility, reflexes, strength and endurance. "Oh... Back at our academy, we used to have it once before breakfast, and once after breakfast. Its like one before and one after each meal and we have about 5 smaller breakdown meals. So we clear these obstacles 10 times daily." "You guys had 5 breakdown meals? Meaning you have breakfast, mid-morning tea, then lunch, then high tea and then dinner. How about supper?" "Do you guys eat supper or simply forgo supper and have dinner instead? It's 10 times a day, right? Sign me up, engineer soldier. I'm up for it 10 times a day starting from today...!" I pumped my fist in the air while Heather and the kids were excited too. As long as I could keep myself busy, I would not be thinking of going outdoors in the near future. Besides, there are lots of matters that I need to tie up as I finished up my tea and grabbed the sack of sand and hooked it on my back. "You really going for it again dear? Don't overexert yourself, dear. You are not combat fit and had not been doing many strenuous exercises lately." Heather advised and I placed my hand on her shoulders and simply said, "I need to become stronger, not only for myself and the family but for the people too." Heather went back to the bleachers and watched me with the twins as some onlookers mingled around to see what this crazy young man was doing early in the morning. I went to the starting line once again and I said to Ceres, "I'm going to be faster each time I clear this Obstacle second by second until I would return to my unknown former self that could clear this within 6 minutes. Hahaha." I got on the starting line and this time the engineer blew his whistle instead of calling me to commence. Once again, my drenched tunic and breeches which was partly dry were wet again and I could even wring it and full a cup full of my perspiration...! "For Duty! Honour! Country...!" I screamed aloud as I once again kicked at the wall to boost myself up and this time I discovered another tactic that enabled me to swing my body sideways as I slid on top of the wall and dropped to the other side. "Yes...! If I don't fall I would shave off some seconds from the current timing...!" Unbeknownst to me, Ceres was keeping records on my first attempt and was now timing the second attempt. It would be a progress chart as it would show at least how much time I had shaved off every time I clear the obstacles. As I cross the finishing line, I raised my hands in the air triumphantly as the twins mimic my movements and were prancing around on their tiny feet and raising their hands as well. I looked at the timing of the new effort that was clocked on my information panel and discovers that I had managed to reduce the current timing to 8 minutes and 45 seconds. At least it is much better than the first timing. "Congratulations, Audemars. You had strained a better timing this time. Keep it up and you would be pulling a record of under 6 minutes in no time at all." I heard Ceres voice in my head and I replied thanks to her telepathically. Having someone talking in your head 24 hours a day seemed rather weird and I wondered how if Ceres had eavesdropped on what Heather and I were doing last night. Hahaha. After clearing the obstacles and given the thumbs up to the engineers that the whole concept and design had been approved and there was no problems or flaws that I could see since I had cleared it thrice today. The engineers were appreciative and they congratulated one another as they went to inform the rest of the militiamen about the commencement of the RedCoc they had been approved by me. They had been waiting for some time since this Obstacle course would be able to enhance the fitness level of the militiamen. I walked with Heather and the twins out from the Coliseum and went to Old Jack's Blacksmith where I showed my drawings of the honours medal and good service medal to Old Jack. "Wooah... The design is finally ready, eh Your Majesty? It seemed you do doddle a lot and I could say that the designs are quite exquisite." "This simple good service medal is good and I am sure that those who had serviced the town would be awarded these." "Don't you worry, Your Majesty, I will work on it and let you have the sample in a few days time. The materials would be smelted from the spoils that the Shadows had brought back, am I right?" "That's right, Old Jack. If you could, the good service medal would be made in gold, silver and bronze. At least once the candidates receive the medals, it would start off from bronze first and by then they would upgrade to the next one when they had achieved the bare minimum requirements." Old Jack nodded his head as he understood what I am implying at. He took the drawings from the journal that was handed by Heather and returned me when he had torn off the paper from it and hung it inside the shop. "So how's the meditation going lately, Your Majesty? Did you achieve some kind of progress so far since you were sprawled out on the floor last night?" " It got us a little worried because you can't seem to regain your consciousness when Eagle was frantically waving his little bell in front of your face. Hahaha." Old Jack asked with a bit of concern on his face but later smiled when I replied that I may have reached a breakthrough. "That's good to hear that, Your Majesty." "Alright then, I would not waste too much of your time since I knew you would be going for your usual rounds. See you a few days time when I had finished the products." Old Jack waved at me as he disappeared inside the Blacksmith where the actual works of smelting and blacksmithing would take place. We then strolled along the town square until we go to the Adventurers Guild where a countless number of guild members were assembled there to wait for their next task to be made released. Guy MacDonough and his party were there as well. "Well, Guy... It seems that you are raring to go for the next tasks? Don't you want to attend the course that the teachers were conducting and learn about charting maps as well to identify mythical creatures?" "There's also a 4-star ranking task that had been reserved to you so you might be taking on a few tasks at the same time. Besides, your rewards had not been issued out and it would be by the end of the month. You still going to attend the courses?" I asked Guy MacDonough and the rest of his party members and they were not there to receive tasks but to get more information on the courses that the rest of the parties had attended. "We would be attending the courses, Your Majesty. Knowledge is one thing that one shouldn't forgo at all. It's important for our rail lives and it would also save our skin if need be." Guy MacDonough explained and we all nodded our heads and I spoke to Michelle and Gwen to allocated one-directional position for Guy MacDonough and his party members and issue it to them once after the two weeks course had ended. Only the tasks for charting of maps and looking for mythical creatures would be given out simultaneously. We knew the possibility of searching and discovering those elusive creatures would be close to nil, but at least the adventurers would be able to discover unexplored caves and other virgin forests during their charting of maps. A total of 14 parties had been picked and 56 guild members began to stream out of the adventurers guild once they had received their task. Since its still autumn and winter would be in by 2 months time, the adventurers had packed their winter clothes, just in case. From the small knapsack that they had brought along with them before, it was now exchanged to one of a sturdier type and had some wooden frames on it to support their new knapsack. The wooden frames were sturdy enough to attach their blankets that doubles as a sleeping bag plus some other necessities like a small woodcutter axe, some cooking utensils as well. Their improved Adventurers knapsack may contain more food supplies and leather skins as well as other provisions and supplies. It seemed that this batch of Adventurers would be gone for quite some time. From those young faces, the adventurers were eager and ready to venture out once more. Some would leave on the day itself while some would be leaving on the next day since they would need some time to gather their necessary supplies. It was as if the adventurers were having a good time and spending their time camping in the Wilderness.
