Sunday, 28th August 1442 The long-awaited week had finally arrived and the pitch of Macleod Coliseum was becoming packed with well wishers and also those attending the sermon as well. There were 64 benches that were set up at the centre of the pitch where the 129 couples would be wedded that day. A wooden platform was immediately erected at the end of the pitch where a rostrum was set up for High Priest Eke (also known as Eagle or Bishop Levingstone) to begin his sermon before announcing the exchange of matrimonial vows. At the end of the other side of the pitch, there were more than 100 dining tables arranged an end to end to each other and had banana leaves lain on top of it while there were numerous pots that held steamed rice while many others held the dishes that the citizens had contributed. Frankly speaking, the dining tables that were set and arranged by the Shadow units were exactly as what they had mentioned before in a boodle fight. Simply rows of perfectly lined steamed rice in the centre and then arranged by dishes alternatively. It's going to be a gastronomical trip for everyone today... Yeahey... As the wedding ceremony was still not underway, the steamed rice and dishes were still in their own pots and cauldrons with their lid over it. It was still early in the morning and Heather had just completed making the last dish and she had cooked up a storm early in the morning with the aid of the helpers. Her menu includes: 1. Braised Pork Belly 2. Soft Pork Ribs With Fermented Beans 3. Venison in Green Curry with Potatoes 4. Pork Sautéed in Red Sauce 5. Venison in Curry Gravy with okra, yard long beans and aubergines. Fortunately, Heather had her helpers to got hold of her Gracehaven's Mighty Cookbook And Baking Recipe Book and had prepared the ingredients on the night before. Once the main ingredients had been prepared and mixed, bowls of the ingredients along with the meat that had been marinated were kept inside the chiller section of the cold storage. At least, in the morning today when the helpers started to cook, the meat would not be frozen and it would be properly cooked in the stipulated time. Besides the marinated meat tastes much more wonderful as the meat had been soaked up all the spices and such. Besides, the outdoor kitchen itself was running on 8 rocket stoves while 3 were meant for the steamed rice that could feed at least 400 to 500 diners. Heather was just directing and tasting the food to ensure it was up to the standards of cooking by her very own hands as she made sure that the ingredients were stocked well enough. Not too salty and not too spicy since there would be children who would be eating alongside. When the cooking was done, it was brought on top of a hand cart and wheeled over to the Macleod Coliseum and placed on between of the rows of tables to evenly distribute the dishes. When the final cauldron had reached there, she could finally heave a sigh of relief and told me that she would go back to change into her bat clothes and get the twins as well. She then slipped and flitted out from the Macleod Coliseum back to the domain where she would be preparing the twins for this joyous and once in a lifetime experience. I myself have not changed into my best clothes and was thinking at the back of my head on what to wear since Innes told us that she had prepared something wonderful and bright for us to wear that day. It was actually an outfit that was designed for Heather, I and the twins and the colours that she had assembled for this occasion was similar to one another. I was laughing at myself thinking that Innes would not be designing a kind of clothes that liked like a jester. Hahaha...! After ensuring the preparations had been carefully laid out and throngs of well wishers were streaming in to the Coliseum while the 4 food wagons were busy calling out for sales and I saw that there was also an addition — 2 steamer baskets with 5 layers each that had more than 30 bite sized steamed buns. They were selling their food at the sides of the pitch and since it was mid-morning, the well wishers wouldn't mind spending a few coppers to grab something to munch while waiting for the wedding service to start. (actually waiting for me to get dressed before we start. Hahaha) From the looks of the food wagons, those Priest and Priestess, as well as Samuel and Andy Cole, would make a killing in sales today. From the looks of our nearly 3,000 citizens, there would definitely be a need to increase the number of food wagons. I went back to the domain and saw that Heather was dressed in a blue dress with gold trimmings, likewise with Amy in a similarly shrunk downsize. Both of the girls really looked wonderful and after having some made up on the hair they were all done. Jay-R was dressed in a black overcoat with red trimming and white cuffs at the sides. The helpers were claiming how handsome the boy was and he was giggling as he was held down had to wear such costumes. Its a three-piece and I am sure we both were going to be sweating soon. I quickly changed into mine and emerged from the dressing room a while later. After changing I was wondering how the boodle fight would end up since we were so dressed up like this. If we were so nicely dressed, how would we be able to enjoy our feast later? Wuwuwuwu... "Come on dear, our community is waiting for us right now. We are the most distinguished guests and we would be sitting at the platform where Eagle would be serving the sermon later on." "Yeah, for sure... I better get the bib for our twins, a table cloth for yourself and a bedsheet for me. Hahahaha." "You would definitely know how messy I would be when I eat with my hands and this time it's going to be a huge feast with close to 3,000 citizens dining together." Heather was joking when she had asked for a bedsheet as a bib for herself and this showed that she was taking a huge interest in this wedding service as she hurriedly checked the twins and herself and found that everything as perfect. Even she fussed with myself as she adjusted my collar and pulled at the ends of the coat to make it straighter. She stood back and she gave me a thumbs up and told me that both Jay-R and I looked smashing enough. "Hahaha. Same goes to you my dear, you look great in blue. I thought blue was for men. Well, its time for us to goooooo...!" I swooped everyone off their feet and we headed out from the domain right to the Macleod Coliseum where so many eyes were waiting for the 4 of us to arrive. "Sorry for the delay, High Priest Eke, you may proceed with the morning sermon and then we can get these young couples married off then. Hahaha." I let out a peal of hearty laughter as the four of us sauntered in the platform and began to sit on the thrones that were placed slightly behind where Eagle was about to start his service for the day. =*= Dear friends and fans, If you discover any grammatical errors along the way, we would appreciate if you would be able to point them out as part of helping us to keep this novel as perfect as possible.
