Siege...!

1702 Words
"So tell me, my fine young men, what shall we do with Austin Powers since we would be taking over the town? Besides, if the townfolks had one heart and mind to leave  from here, would we give much hoot to the person that had placed so much hatred inside your hearts?" I let this slowly sink into the minds of the three men and finally, I said to them. "We will march into town together with you. There would be a surprise in store for Austin the moment we get there." "Since you had said that almost everyone wanted to surrender and also considering the fact that our town needs more manpower, how about joining us at our town to reach a common goal together?" The three men before us were looking at each other questioning before they decided that the best was to get as far away as the evil Lord that they had served tirelessly and being paid monkey nuts in return. "Here, Your Majesty. These are the colours of Gracehaven. We thought it would come in handy when taking over a town. That's what Eagle had mentioned to us before and Innes had hurriedly made a few of these on standby." Gwen handed me 3 triangular folded flags of ours since we would be taking over a town and putting it under our flagships, so to speak. However, I reached for one and the other two was handed back to Gwen. "Here... All we need is a single flag to use it to march forward inside. Please get me my quivers that had the whistling arrows and concussive arrowheads made by Andy Cole. I'm going to test out the arrowheads that I had dreamt about 11 years into the future." The three men looked at me with bewilderment as I mentioned about 11 years ahead of time but they soon took no notice of it as they were engrossed by us taking things into action at the moment. Before long, all of us were ready to march into Camp and therefore commence the take over of the said town. It was considered as my first attempt and so does the rest of us that had never been involved in such a manoeuvre before. So the next best thing to do was to gather around as we said a little prayer so that whatever obstacles we would be facing would be overcome with ease. After we had knelt down on one knee and said our little prayer, all the 22 of us including the three townsfolks all began to walk in a single file towards our intended target — Camp. It was only slightly over 8 in the evening when we entered into town without any sign of resistance as white flags and cloth were hung on every single house except for their Lord's house. As we walked in, Frank was carrying the flag of our colours high and proud in the air while was supported by a single long reed pole. When we were walking along the grounds, almost all the citizens threw themselves on the ground and prostrate where I told the earlier three men to inform the citizens to recover from that awkward position. To me, what's the point of such grovelling on the ground but their hearts were not in sync with their mind. In other words, their mind speaks differently from their hearts and that what matters the most. If the town folks were in one heart and mind, we would be pretty sure the whole process would be much smoother than this. "This is the Lord's house, Your Majesty. Shall we knock or address ourselves as we make an entrance?" Gregory asked but I gestured to those around us to cover their ears well. I stood about 20 yards from the main door of the Lord's House as the main double swinging heavy doors were still shut even though the occupants inside knew that we were coming. I took a concussive arrowhead from my quiver and nocked it. I then removed the citron flax swab from within the bladed arrowhead and the ball bearing that contained the concealed gunpowder was rolling freely inside. I took aim at the heavy double bay doors and pulled on my drawstring as far as I could. I waited for a few seconds, as I felt the tension of the drawstring against the bridge of my nose. The citizens were awed at the way I held the bow and had a good posture but they were wondering what could this guy and an arrow do towards the heavy double bay doors of the Lord's House. I waited and counted to ten but the heavy bay doors were still closed when I unleashed it right at the centre where I assume there would be a horizontal beam that secured the door from getting breached. *SWOOSH* *KKAABBOOOOMM* The arrow was let loose and it struck dead centre of the heavy double bay doors and the next thing that happened astounded the whole citizens. Those who were about to rise from their prostate position after being told to rise by the three men suddenly fell back as the sound of an explosion that ensured was deafening...! I too was surprised because all I expected as a thud and a small sizzle and never expected a huge explosion that occurred right after the arrowhead struck the heavy bay doors. A simple 5/16" ball bearing that was packed with gunpowder was like a mini cannonball. The arrowhead that I had unleashed was lucky to hit part of the metal hinge that secured the bay door and the caused a bit explosion. If the arrowhead were to hit the wooden part of the door, I guess everyone would sigh their disappointment while Guy and his sister would be once again, rolling on the floor laughing their head off...! There won't be an explosion but definitely, a sound that resembles a piece of poop that dropped into a bucket of pee. Hahaha...! There wasn't any movement or signs of life from within the house and I had given two arrows to Gwen and Eagle as they happily nocked the arrows into their bows and waited for my signal. "Powers, I'm going to count to 10 and if you still won't show your puny face, we are going to blow your doors down...!" I had already drawn back the drawstring and all three of us waited for me to do the countdown. "1... 2... 10...!" instead of the usual count, I straight jumped to 10 and by then three concussive arrowheads were let loose from the bows and struck the heavy bay doors and a resounding loud explosion ensued... The doors shook violently, threatening to break off from its hinges as it was supported by the horizontal beam behind it. Somehow, the force of the 3 concussive arrowheads had managed to break the horizontal beam from its latch and the heavy bay doors were now a bit lopsided and we can see complete pandemonium within...! A white coloured handkerchief was being waved from the cracks and we lay our bows aside on our backs as I removed my gauntlet from my left hand, which acted as a wrist guard. "Guys, bring the door down. It's already been breached and there's no way we could enter and those people inside couldn't also come out." Eagle mentioned this to his Shadow units and they immediately kicked the door a few times before it finally gave way and crashed inside. After the dust had settled, a pale looking man, wearing a long nightie, and surrounded by his servants slowly came out, all waving their white hankies as a sign of surrender. The sight before the citizens of Camp looked rather pitiful and they can't help but squirm in disgust at looking their Lord clad only in a long nightie and had even retired to bed earlier than the rest of the citizens around. "Are you Powers? Identify yourself...!" A Shadow unit member stood poised with his short daggers standing at the side of the doorway and was asking in a very commanding voice. The pale man was shivering uncontrollably as he stated at the c*****e left behind by the damaged door when he stepped over it and shielded his face. He never saw a catapult nor a battering ram but instead, he saw three people standing yards away from his house and were only armed with a bow and sword...! "Yes... I am Powers, Your Majesty. Please pardon us for our insolence of not giving you a warm welcome upon your benevolence's arrival here in our humble little town." the pale little man was stuttering when he answered before us and walked forward before he threw himself along with his servants on the ground and began grovelling. We did not stop those fools along with the household within from not doing so and let them bawled and cried their eyes out until thick whitish-yellow snot dribbled their sides of their faces wight down to their chins. "Listen to us, citizens of Camp. Your town has now fallen into the arms and control of Gracehaven and your so-called yellow-bellied cowpat in front of you now is now worthless and not even worth a mention." "Will all the citizens of Camp gather around here and witness the removal of this person from this very town...!" I raised my voice and it boomed across the courtyard as throngs of citizens came out from hiding from their houses and gathered around as they huddled closely in the chilly Autumn night. =*= Dear friends and fans, If you discover any grammatical errors along the way, we would appreciate if you would be able to point them out as part of helping us to keep this novel as perfect as possible.
