I was slowly kicking the ground and balancing the Dandy horse between me and I steered the handlebars to the left and right, making the ground looked like snakes that had travelled across it. In fact, I was trying to keep my mind preoccupied since there would be some matters that would be organised once we got back to town. The meditation process, the unlocking of my own mind and soul to be able to communicate with the 2 beings, the approval of the tasks and delegating the assassins as part of the accompanying party member that would annihilate the evil Witches. Besides, the work for both the MacDonough and Mackenzie would not go unnoticed and somehow a reward for such gallantry work for MacDonough and his party members and also the constructive support from Mackenzie would also be given too. Plus the addition of an ambassador once we had successfully taken over a town, which we had never dreamed of ever since we had set up our very own town by ourselves. If we take over a town, their Lord would automatically come to our side. This is what Eagle had informed us before we even set out on this journey. If we rejected such a Lord or put him in a secondary role instead, would he in turn rebel against us in the future? Besides, we might be extending our services such as bumper crop fields to other towns that would be under our influences soon. Well... We would see why we would do after this since the process could not be done within a few short moments and it's a long term planning for the town to progress. "Your Majesty, the trail leads more to the left right now and seemed we are quite near the marshlands already. Its already past midday and it seems that the Adventurers were not slowing down for their meal breaks at all." Maria Martin reported from her seat in the wagon and informed of the progress of the trail that was before them. "Alright, we would press on and meet up with the Adventurers right in front. At the meantime, we would scoot ahead as well and then we would wait for you to rejoin us then." "Since its past midday, we would be taking our break in about 4 hours time when we had covered enough ground and would be just within sight of Camp." I just use the term as 4 hours as an excuse since I won't know how long the Camp would be ahead of us right after we had crossed the marshlands. I signalled to Eagle and discussed they we would go on ahead and regroup with the Adventurers at the front and then wait for the wagons to arrive. The Shadow units were aware of the situation and they had hauled with them some of the cooking utensils to make themselves less conspicuous as chefs and travellers rather than mercenaries. It looked rather comical as the men balanced the huge cauldron on the horizontal beam of the Dandy horse along with ample water supply as well as a sack of coals to make fires for the meal. The rest of the Shadow unit removed some meat from the chest chiller unit on the wagon and placed some vegetables inside a hemp sack to make a nice cauldron of pottage. As for the bread, it was removed from a chest warmer unit on the other wagon and the bread smelled like it was just freshly baked. After stuffing the various food inside the saddlebags and knapsack, we were ready to proceed ahead. We travelled hard and fast forward and we saw that the Adventurers had already settled down near some forested area near Camp. The forested area provides some shelter from the sun that was peeking among the clouds overhead and it would be a good place to set up an encampment as well. At least it would be better than the wet marshlands and also the rocky boulders that the Adventurers had told us about. "This is a good vantage point you've got here, Guy. We would be able to see the watchtowers of the town from here and not only that, it's only about some minutes before we walk over and take over the town. We will s*******r on our way through and nothing stands in our way...! Hahaha...!" Seeing Eagle laugh manically, makes him want to see actions and blood to spill on the ground tonight. Yeah, it's been some time since he had seen action since the last Intel that he got was some perpetrators who were out there looking for me. Eagle cleared his throat and maintain his composure as later added, "Not everyone we meet would be as vile and evil as Austin Powers, right?" "By the way, there are so many innocent Town folks there. It would be a pity to wipe everyone off and leaving the town to waste." Eagle corrected his earlier statement and seemed he can't contain his excitement at all. I believed before he had joined us back then, he was used to going around and hitting bandit's towns that were sprouting like mushrooms after a heavy downpour. *Clap-Clap* "Alright, my dear men. Let's set up our encampment here while waiting for the wagons and start the fires for our meals ready then. Guy, we would like to laud you and the rest of you for finding a good location vantage point overlooking our target area." "It was as if you had been a Shadow unit member all along if not for realising where you originated from. I guess we Shadow units and other militiamen would be able to learn a few valuable knowledge from you." Eagle clapped his hands and brought everyone to attention where the chefs immediately set out to prepare our dinner. We had missed lunch and we were hungry on our trip. Even those who were traversing the wagons would feel famished after going without break for some time, not to mention the horses as well. =*= A good thing about making fires using coals was that it was smokeless and also does not have a huge fire as a fireplace would. It would be embers and even if stocked, it would burst into a small flame before dying off. It would be a great non-discrete way of cooking and staying warm in the evening. After the chefs had prepared a pottage made from a leg of a small boar, some potatoes, mushrooms and garlic and shallots, the wagons finally arrived and they were just in time to have their meals. The horses were fed with some warm water that had been boiled earlier and there were lots of hay and horse bread for the horses to feed. The horses seemed quite pleased when they were fed with horse bread that had lots of vegetables and fruits in them to give the energy that they need during the trip back. There were some hay as well to munch as they had finished their loaves of horse bread that were given as treats and main feed for them to regain their energy. It was only been two whole days since they had travelled from GraceHaven and once we had our sumptuous meals, we all sat down in a circle as we discussed on our next phase. I was sucking noisily on a piece of bone that was chopped cleanly by the chefs prior to cooking the pottage as I was trying hard to get to the bone marrow within...! Hahaha. Seeing me trying hard to reach the bone marrow of the bone that I was trying to suck on, one of the chefs handed me a small reed and told me to draw the marrow out using it and by sucking through it like a straw. After some attempts, I was letting out a satisfactory burp as I had finally gotten what I had tried to achieve earlier and the mushy bone marrow was delectable. Hahaha. That's all I could say at that moment of time. =*= "There are these 3 watchtowers around the town and were currently manned by voluntary community service corps. As what I had gathered these people are not trained in any military forces and only qualify to be hunter-gatherer like us." "I'm not sure if Gregory was on duty as he told us that they worked on a 24 hours shift before taking 24 hours of rest and then continue for the whole routine." "On top of that, I had known the barkeep and also the bakery since we had spent some time there before. Would you require us to bring those people here first?" Eagle and the rest pondered and decided to proceed with the people that Guy MacDonough had been in contact with. In that way, they would be easily brought over so they could be questioned more on the situations within the town. "Alright then, you and your sister would move into Camp without any weapons and bring them out here as discreetly as possible. Try not to raise any alarm and once you had done so, we would proceed from there, henceforth." Eagle spoke up and had given the green light since Guy and his sister would be able to 'infiltrate' Camp and bring those people here first for their 'Interrogation'. Guy MacDonough and his sister saluted and silently went off towards the entrance of Camp after they had left their bow and sword at the sides. Well, this would be the first reconnaissance mission and we hope that these two young siblings would perform well under pressure. =*= Dear friends and fans, If you discover any grammatical errors along the way, we would appreciate if you would be able to point them out as part of helping us to keep this novel as perfect as possible.
