Future

"Yo... Yo... Your Majesty, I do not have anything on those dates that you had written and you said that both Andy Cole and I died at the Armoury? How... How... Did it actually happened that day?" Right now I felt that I am the Seer and not Samuel as I was able to recollect perfectly in that happened and was being said on the 9th August of 1453 which happened tight into the future. Even if it is only a dream but I would perceive it as a premonition and I would never give it up casually but would take it as seriously as possible. "Listen up everyone, I wasn't there on the fateful evening that it happened but Eagle was with me, and the same goes to Clayton Chadwell that has grown into a fine young lad." "When I dreamt that I was in the future, Clayton was the right-hand man beside Eagle who was leading the army ahead. Prior to the attack on the future of 14th May in 1453, the armies had already been attacking those gnomes and fending off the perimeter against their attacks as well." "Clayton here was holding on to the scraggy doll that is now in Amy's hands. Gwen, do remember the archer's shield that I had then erected around the perimeter before it was taken down? They were being widely used in the warfare and they were called a mantlet and had wheels so it could be inched forward." Gwen was surprised and even Eagle never knew that I had it named accurately since only the infantryman knew about its actual name and uses. Other laymen would just term it like an archer's shield. "That night, Clayton lost his life protecting me when we tried to inch our way to the last gnome cannon emplacement which had concussed me but had taken Clayton's life instead." The Chadwell that had accompanied their son was shocked to hear that their son would perish 11 years later in a horrific manner. The news that they had heard about from me that spouts about the future had shocked them all and they wished that they could pack their bags and leave the town and get as far away from me like I was some kind of plague. It seems that I do feel like a plague and people around me were dropping dead like flies. "Andy Cole... Could you come to the front of the slate here and explain certain things that u do not know of but only you could describe it at your best knowledge?" I motioned for Andy Cole the arrowsmith as I drew a huge three blades arrowhead and a ball bearing in the centre. After making several adjustments to the drawing on the slate, I explained to Andy Cole that this was the latest concussion arrowhead that he had designed in the future. After looking at it for some time and putting his hand under his chin and then to the back of his head, he can't help but turn around and exclaimed to me in utter surprise...! "By Golly, Your Majesty... This metal ball here is not just a metal ball that would hinder the weight of the overall arrowhead...!" "This metal ball here is filled with gunpowder and somehow when this arrowhead penetrates a target, this metal ball here got crushed and therefore created a reaction that would make this into deadly splinters." "You can shake this arrowhead as much as you like but it would not detonate but the force of the crushed arrowhead enabled this ball to detonate." "You... You really did look into the future, Your Majesty?" Andy Cole looked at me as if he didn't realise that what I had drawn was something that was brought back from the future. Besides, cold weapons during that time didn't change much but had certain improvements made into them to make it more lethal than ever before. Yes, I had indeed looked into the future and brought back something from there. A piece of invaluable knowledge and also some inevitable news of their demise. But how would we able to stop from certain things from ever happen since it's 11 years into the future? And now since I am the speaker of the evening, somehow I had earned the reputation as a Seer as Andy Cole later indicated that the designs were uncommon and unheard of and only an arrowsmith like him would be able to understand the design and concept of the arrowhead. By now everyone's curiosity and interest were piqued as I talked about the next topic in mind — Black Knight's Plated Armour. "Next I want to talk about something that I had worn on that day in the future and I want to share with you since u had no idea on how it would be like. Eagle, would you mind calling some of your engineers who would be excellent in armour kit and also Priest Michael too?" Eagle nodded and we all took a short break as Eagle had summoned someone to call some engineers who would be able to shed some light and also Priest Michael that was helplessly brought to the conference hall to share some knowledge. When Priest Michael reached there, he was surprised to see Heather in a mess and was huddling the twins while some were intently talking to one another and discussing the dates on the slate. It wasn't something in the last as Priest Michael looked at it but it was indeed 11 years into the future...! With two exact dates written on it and nothing else. "Michael, thank you for joining this conference. I would like to enquire you about the weird metals that you had conjured up and made into those tiny weapons and some armour pieces on display. What are those metal and are they stronger than iron plates?" The said engineers that were summoned was there as well and were also looking at the slates and were wondering how come the dates were all in the future. Later on, Eagle whispered something to them and they finally understood — the man speaking before them had a dream and taken it too seriously. Hmph...! "Your Majesty, I do not have a name for that metal but it was abundant and it is being conjured right now by me in the pan even if I tried to conjure up some iron pieces." "Instead, these globules of a new type of metal ores came up and after being smelted and forged, all the surfaces of the tools, armours or weapons had a watery wavy design on it." "I could say that the metal weighs considerable lighter than Iron plates and are much more durable and stronger than steel. Yes, Your Majesty, those metals are much stronger than steel." I nodded acknowledging and turned my attention to the engineers that were summoned by Eagle and I knew that they would prove to be a vital role in armoursmith that could help the 4 lads in Old Jack's Blacksmith. "Engineers, you knew about the current armour that the knights had worn for the last few years till now, right? But have you seen this type of design before?" I took a few sheets of paper and halved then before I tote them into squares and then may them on the table and looked like fish-scales as they were placed overlapping in such a manner. "Imagine this is a gauntlet, and it is being made in this fashion, overlapping one another et cetera. Will it restrict one's movement or does it adds more flexibility and mobility to the user? Have you seen this type of design before?" "I was wearing this as a half plated armoured suit that covers my chest and back right down to my front of thighs and was wearing metal boots as well. It was all black but I never felt as if I was wearing any armour at all." I went to the slate and drew how it looked like and from the picture that I drew, even though it looked rather cartoonish, the engineers who should I say, future armoursmiths, understood the concept and was utterly surprised. They had heard of plate armours before since it was basically square plates that were hung using some sort of chain mail designs, but the ones that I tried to illustrate using the papers were simply out of this world. It was fashioned like an interwoven, overlapping plates that helped to turn the user into wearing a second skin which enhances the flexibility and mobility and therefore would not weigh an astronomical 65 pounds and they need to be assisted when they mount the horses or even fall to the ground. But after doing some speculations, the armoursmith concluded that this was a design no one had seen before and as it was truly worn by me in my future dreams, it would just weigh 15 pounds. A full set of an armoured suit would be about 25 pounds at most...! The armoursmiths were surprised at my revelation that evening and decided to keep the information to them and to design the armour kit and have the 4 ladies from Durham to assist. After collaborating with Priest Michael, he promised to conjure up as many globules of the iron ores as possible to design the armour plates and also the new arrowheads. This means, the 5,000 concussive arrowheads would be recalled, the gunpowder recollected and then the arrowheads reforged into the design that I had drawn on the slate.
