The door creaks open slowly, my heart thumping again my chest as my fight or flight instinct kicks in. Why would someone be creeping in? in the hopes that I'd be asleep? My head starts to pound as I wait nervously, my heart in my mouth as the door opens painfully slow. A head soon pops around the door as I lay still, the silhouette peers over to my bed as they quietly close the door behind them. I can hear my own heartbeat at this point as I lay there in the darkness of the night unmoving with only the TV casting a glow right at me, I keep my eyes squinted, practically closed hoping I'm fooling the perpetrator into thinking I'm asleep, though I know deep down I am not fooling anyone, the neighbouring packs could probably hear my heartbeat right now.
