Chapter Seven
The ‘Cave’ was the name given to the headquarters of the organization headed by Darque, and it was located inside a hollowed-out mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Staunton, Virginia.
The cover for the site was the aging façade of an innocuous looking manufacturing concern neatly tucked into the side of the mountain, and surrounded by what appeared to be an unmaintained, rust-covered chain-link fence.
Even the name of the facility mounted on a warped, plywood background on its facade, Blue Ridge Ma ufac ur ng, proclaimed a trivial, unimposing presence and rapidly failing endeavor, reinforced by the fact that three of the letters were missing from the word ‘Manufacturing’.
