“I think I may have worn out my welcome here,” said Darque looking a bit sheepish.
“We live in a complex world, my friend,” responded the PM.
The silence that followed was excruciating.
“Have you thought about retiring?” asked the PM.
“All the time,” said Darque, “but I think I’ve gotten myself into a situation where that may not be possible, and there’s something I still need to take care of before I would seriously consider that possibility.”
