Chapter Fifty-Six
“What do you want to see me about?” Darque asked as he entered Doc’s office.
Doc stood and shook the man’s hand as he looked in awe at the Director.
“You’re not going to believe who just called me,” Doc said as he appeared to be in a state of shock.
“I have no idea,” said Darque. “Is that why you asked me to come here; to play a guessing game?”
“Of course not,” said Doc, “but are you aware of the fact some people think you’re getting ready to retire?”
Although Darque hadn’t planned to announce the event just yet, Doc’s response seemed to make it something that would soon be public knowledge inside the Cave.
