Leroi's POV.
I should be excited that I found my mate, but I wasn't, she was a rogue and I didn't like that. I don't care how attractive she looked, I just didn't like rogues. They were
responsible for the pain I had, I still remembered the day my parents died. It was vivid in my memories, when the rogues came and killed them. I had to take over power even though I wasn't ready. I still remembered the guilt in me. I would've done something if I didn't go to a party.
Meeting my mate and realizing she's a rogue made me so pissed, I couldn't help but act the way I acted with her. I felt the pull crazily, I wanted to run to her after leaving her in the slave quarters, but I refused, I couldn't do that. I told the head slave to make sure
she works, I didn't want her lingering around. I couldn't tell anyone she was my mate, only Gray knew about this. I knew he wouldn't say anything till I told him to, I sighed ruffling my hair as her face slipped into my mind.
Her brown hair, blue eyes, and soft skin, she really is an angel...a demon, I reminded myself quickly.
That's why I can't let myself fall for her, it'd ruin everything, she'll end up being like other rogues.
They were never to be trusted, they would do anything, they were never loyal, and never part of a pack, they could destroy anything without remorse.
I stood up from my bed, pacing my room, trying to stop thinking of her.
I needed to stop thinking of her, but it was so hard. Any time I thought of something,my thoughts ended up trailing to her. It's been just two days and I couldn't get her out of my head.
As I paced the floor, a knock on my door brought me back to reality.
"Come in!" I called out, walking over to my desk. Gray walked in, with a small smile.
"You called for me." He raised his brows.
"I need you to get me information about her." I sighed. "Who?" He feigned ignorance.
"Your mate?" He raised his brows.
"She's not my..." I paused, she was my mate and I couldn't change that, the moon goddess gave her to me as my mate, I didn't want to reject her.
"She's your mate, though you don't want to accept her." Gray said. "What's her name?" I rolled my eyes.
"Kaley." He replied.
Even though her name was as beautiful as she is, her face slipped into my mind again. I shook my head willingly, "how did you know her name?" I raised my brows.
"You've made her popular by announcing her as a rogue slave." He shrugged.
"And she's very beautiful, the males in the pack have been eyeing her and it's just two days." Gray chuckled.
I wasn't ready for the wave of jealousy that hit me immediately. He said others were looking at her.
"Why is it bothering you?" He asked, noticing my sour expression. "No." I muttered, not wanting to talk to him anymore.
He smiled slightly at me before walking towards my door.
I hated that he could see through me, I knew he meant well, he was trying to be supportive, but it was annoying right now.
"You know you should try and give in to her." He suggested. "You know how I feel about rogues." I shook my head. "Yeah, but just.." Gray suggested.
"You might regret it later." He added. "I'd rather take my chances." I said.
"Okay, I'll find information about her." He left my room.
I paced the room again, tired of pacing, I rushed to the bathroom to take a shower again, the pacing made me sweat.
After my shower,I changed into some loose clothes. I went outside my room to see how she was doing. I couldn't help but be curious about her.
I didn't see her at the slave quarters and the slaves were still busy, I wondered where she was, as my mate I could scent her.
The delicious scent pulled me closer to her, it was intoxicating.
As if on queue, my phone rang, it was a message from Gray, he had information about Kaley, I read the message and ran back to my room.
I sat down on my bed waiting for him, he came into my room with a frown. "You're so fast, what information did you get?" I raised my brows.
"Not much, just a little, I made Manny search the dark web." He sighed. "So what is it?"
"Okay, so she was part of a pack, I didn't get the name, but she was later a slave, I don't know if she was a slave before or later, because it seems the pack has a new alpha, and it seemed like she was escaping from something."
"That's all?" I raised my brows.
"Yes, that is all." He sighed.
"Sorry I didn't get much." He sighed.
"Well, as long as she's not part of a pack anymore it means she's a rogue like I said." I concluded.
"Yeah I think so, though you should probably ask her why she was running away." He suggested.
"I won't do that, the rogues that killed my parents pretended to be friends and also acted like they were having issues, just to kill them that way." I stood up.
"I will never pity any rogue." I walked out of my room and he followed me. "Where are you stalking off to?" He asked.
"To find out why she isn't working with the other slaves, she should be working harder and be thankful I let her survive." I bellowed.
I inhaled following her scent, it didn't matter who she was now, I had to find out her location and then punish her.
I scented her in the flower garden, I walked in and she was wiping her face. "What the f**k are you doing here?" I bellowed.
She swallowed her eyes widening, she looked away.
Her scent drew me in,I wanted nothing more than to kiss her right now. "Answer me!" I snarled.
"I..I'm sorry." She mumbled.
I growled, I walked closer to her, I lifted her chin to look at me and she stared at me.
Erica's POV.
I didn't know what to expect from him, he looked really angry and it scared me. I didn't realize I'll see him here, all I came here to do was cry.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come here." I hiccuped.
I started sobbing as my tears stained the dirt around us. I wiped off my cheeks and looked back at him. His expression showed a mixture of guilt, hurt, and anger.
But mostly confusion. He stared down at me with no emotion. I was starting to feel scared again.
"I'm so sorry." I muttered.
"You should be working like the other slaves."
"So can you give me one credible reason why you're here?" He barked.
I bit my lip. Why am I even crying? It's not like he cares anymore than usual, but still the sight of his face made my heart ache.
He grabbed my wrist and pulled me away from the wall. I let out a whimper. "Where are we going?" I managed to squeak out.
His eyes locked on mine in an instant. I felt chills go up my spine as I stared at those piercing gray orbs that were filled with hatred.
"Back." He grumbled under his breath, not taking his eyes away from me. I quickly nodded, afraid of getting a slap on my face.
He stopped close to the gate, turning to me again, I clutched my hands nervously. "What is it now?" I mumbled.
"Don't talk when I'm talking to you!" He yelled, making me flinch and jump slightly, his tone changed to that of calmness, but still anger.
A tear fell from my cheek. He clenched his fists in anger. I couldn't look away from his eyes, they held such a cold and dark glare that almost sent shivers down my spine.
Then he turned away from me again, opening the gate. "Go back and do your duties." He barked, stalking away.
"S...Sure thing, Sir." I stuttered, trying not to fall as the fear of being hit me hard.
As soon as the gate swung shut, I ran to the slave quarters.
I paused when I met the head slave, she glared hard at me, slapping me immediately as I faced her. My back hit the door and I dropped to my knees. She walked away while muttering something about how worthless I am.
That only made my chest tighten more. I tried to steady my breathing, but nothing helped.
I crawled to a corner, where I sat on the ground and cried.
After crying, I stood up in my room, and into bed. I fell asleep immediately.
