"Are you sure you're okay?" Dad asked me on the phone for the millionth time.
I sighed, heartbroken, for the umpteenth time, as I put the clean laundry in the drawer.
I knew perfectly well that there was a maid who could do it, who was paid to do it, but I didn't want to have someone rummage through my underwear, not when I had brand new sexy lingerie to fix. I didn't want her to go and tell the people who shouldn't and get the wrong idea.
" I'm fine dad, you're rather worried, is something going on?" I asked, closing the drawer.
Dad sighed. "No, or rather I don't know, the lawyer called me to make an urgent appointment. I'm afraid something irreparable has happened," he said.
"How can anything have happened if the company's accounts are all frozen?" I asked suddenly.
