Chapter Nineteen Scout paced the length of the barn. Luckily it was empty. Otherwise, the way her boots ate up the ground would've agitated the horses. She didn't want to return to the house and face her sisters with her failure. She couldn't return to the cabin where the evidence was written on the walls. She'd been right all along. They were nothing but a mission. The plan was written in colorful sticky notes on Linc's wall. She was an order for him to follow. An objective for him to accomplish. A task for him to execute.
