Chapter 4: Truth

Lost in her thoughts, her phone suddenly lit up. It was his grandmother’s call.

Helen raised her hand to pick up the phone that was vibrating, and as soon as she picked up the phone, an elderly woman’s voice rang out with a cheerful voice:

Only falling in love with Richard was not part of her plan. She was just unsure that she wouldn’t develop feelings for that arrogant, cruel CEO, but she was unexpectedly weak for this childish, weak Richard. During the time she was with him, she always felt so peaceful that she forgot her original purpose. There was a time when she thought, “Can I just leave everything and stay with you forever?”. Perhaps she would do so if it weren’t for the baby’s presence.

She gently touched her stomach as if she could feel the baby’s heartbeat. “Baby! I’m sorry, sorry for letting you be born because of a negotiated contract.” This is his flesh and blood crystallized from the love of two people. She must protect it at all costs. She wouldn’t let anyone harm him or the baby even if it cost her her life.

“You naughty baby dared to hurt papa’s wife?”–Richard stopped crying, he rubbed her belly while scolding the baby.

“Good little treasure! Papa will love you. In the future when you are born we will protect mama together! That’s the deal!”–he kissed her stomach like signing a deal with a baby.

She continued to be helpless at his childish actions. That’s just your excuse! The baby is only 5 weeks old. Sowbelly, How can he pedal? Yet he believed it to be true. But only his childish actions could comfort her. She guessed that the baby in her belly if she could hear it, would be very helpless. “Mom, you shouldn’t blame me either! What a pity!”
