Chapter 5: Faint Memories

Zazy Street - 7 pm,

A City Cinema is one of the leading cinema projects in the country with investment costs of trillions of billions and the design gathering of hundreds of famous architects in the world. This place serves countless customers every day. I cannot count the number of people coming in and out. It must be said that this is one of the most popular projects in the country, but the identity of the leader has never been revealed.

Only the people working in the company may know, but before accepting the job, they must sign a contract to ensure that it will not be revealed. Some people even jokingly said that just asking for a job as a janitor there can earn several hundred thousand dollars a month.

The luxury car stopped in front of the cinema gate, from the car a couple of lovers in a couple of clothes came out. The young man with a gray shirt and casual pants is young and dynamic. The girl next to her was wearing a knee-length skirt in the same gray tone as the boy. Both of their faces exude a proud appearance and add a masculine and feminine charm, so they attract a lot of attention from people around.

Those two influential characters are none other than her and him.

Richard had a file in his hand and excitedly stepped out of the elevator on the top floor when he saw that someone seemed to sneak around doing something on the balcony of the first floor. He crept closer to look, and it turned out to be Jade - his secretary. He curiously stepped closer to listen to the story. He discovered Jade was currently talking on the phone with someone who was smiling non-stop, with her free hand doing nothing but constantly teasing a potted plant nearby.

Richard leaned closer to the phone to listen to who Jade was finally talking to. She didn’t look normal, so she was afraid that they would strip the pot of all of its leaves. He squinted one eye and tried to listen carefully.

“Honey, I miss you so much!” A man’s voice came from within the phone.

“Yes, I miss you too!” - Jade said while giggling.

“Are you free tonight? I have two movie tickets, or let’s go see it together tonight!”

“Yes, I’m free tonight! Come and pick me up!” - Jade said after saying that, her body constantly contorted so that outsiders seeing this scene would think that his assistant is not normal!

Listening to the conversation between the two of them for a long time, Richard really couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. It’s cheesy! Still being heard by Jade, just turned around and saw that Richard was eavesdropping. She didn’t know when she was startled and immediately turned off the phone.

“Sir, why are you here?”

Jade found out that he was listening and couldn’t help but turn pale as if she had just done something shady and was discovered. It is not wrong to say shady. Before the accident, Richard himself issued many strict rules in the company such as every one minute late will be deducted half a month’s salary, not completing the project immediately. After all, who should she be like that for? Wasn’t it because he always made up those diabolical rules that she couldn’t get a husband? “It’s because I want to contribute more to the company, so I won’t get married soon!” - Jade said to herself that she despised herself for being so deceitful, didn’t she always yearn to get married in her heart.

“You are indeed an exemplary employee in the company! But take advantage of it, lest you get old!”–Richard is still thinking that he is humorous and constantly teasing Jade’s “shyness”.

“Yes, I get it!” - Jade just held back and followed the boss’s wishes to finish the matter.

“But why don’t you two go out to eat at a fancy restaurant or go on a trip, but go to the movies?

Richard absorbed the secretary’s words in his heart and sighed at things he had never thought of before. In his head, there was only the thought that would bring the most precious and wonderful things to Helen so that she could become the happiest woman in this world. Unknowingly, he forgot what Jade said. “the simpler the happier”. As if something had occurred to him, he asked Jade:

“Sister! Can you help me with this?”

That afternoon, he excitedly brought two movie tickets to show her. It quite surprised Helen not to think that there would be a day when he would set foot in such trivial and public places, but not at an Asian restaurant or anything like usual.

She had never been to the cinema before. When she was young, her family was not good, her parents divorced, so she could only live with a weak old woman in a small house, collapsing here and there, to where every day it rained heavily. She had to run around the house looking for basins and pots to collect water. It was already difficult for her to have enough food for three meals, let alone go to places like the cinema? Not long after her grandmother died, she worked alone to do more jobs and accidentally caught the eye of her grandmother, so she had today’s situation.

Returning to the present, the security guards and staff outside the cinema gate saw the guests immediately, like a hungry tiger running to find food. Moments later, a man came to disperse them and turned to Richard and said:

“Mr. Richard, how precious! Did you come here today to survey?”

I dressed the previous employees in a formal black suit, and at first glance, one could guess that he was the highest-ranking person here.

“Do you know me?” Richard replied. I don't remember whether he’s been here.

“How are you? This is a movie theater invested by your corporation. That day, he said that they built this place for a special guest!”

Even Helen next to him didn’t know that he had invested in this movie theater before. Looks like this is one of his secret plans. Not only she, himself, but even the present man himself had no recollection of this at all. Suddenly, his head throbbed. Her. Richard put his hand on his head. An image seemed to have just flashed through his head. A girl with a slender figure in a pure white dress, but her face cannot be seen. Her surroundings are vaguely making her stand out like an Angel. Just heard her giggling, saying to a guy holding a stack of papers who was busy reading something:

“Honey! Don’t hold on to those documents forever! Let’s go to the movies together next week! I’ve never been there before, take me there! Please!”

Richard held his head in pain. The memory suddenly became blurred. Only someone’s words sounded and then disappeared little by little.

“The movie theater that you like to watch, I have already brought it for you. Can you come back to me? I beg you…”

“Richard! How are you?” Seeing him suddenly hold his head like that, she couldn’t help but worry. His face was also now covered in a cold sweat because of the pain.

“Mr. Richard, are you ok? Do you need me to call a doctor for you?”–asked the manager urgently.

After a few minutes, the pain passed, and his facial muscles gradually relaxed. “Strange! What is the last memory? Who was that girl just now? Is it Helen? Is that guy me? What does that last sentence mean?

“Bae I’m fine, it’s okay. Don’t worry!” He smiled and patted her head.

Helen is still insecure, partly because she is worried about his health, partly because she is afraid that he will accidentally remember the past when she discovered her identity, so she can’t help but feel uneasy in her heart. Sometimes she felt she was selfish, but there was nothing more she could do. Helen put her hands on his cheeks and shook them constantly. I don’t know if doing this will stop the pain, but he is very dizzy. She just shakes like that for a while before he is hospitalized!
