He didn’t show. Either he was biding his time or he realized that I wasn’t going to let him intimidate me any longer. Hopefully it was the last of my choices. Thursday was the same as any other day. I went to class and actually finished my term paper. I guess life had returned to normal. Jake had moved on and I was much more relaxed. Then on Friday afternoon, it happened. I got home from class and had a call on my answering machine. “Be at my house at eight in the morning. You know how to dress. You’d better be there if you know what’s good for you. I will come and get you if I have to.” I sat on the edge of the bed and tried to decide what to do. I knew that I wasn’t going to go to his house ever again. That was for sure.
