Emmett’s heart fluttered in time to wings.
Emmett—Product arrives Thursday. That is only two days. Be strong, sweet boy. Have you secured a place for its arrival and our entrance?—Thomas
Thomas, meet me yourself at the gate to the rear garden tonight while the family has its private dinner. We can discuss details then. Emmett
Emmett—You cad. Any excuse to see me in person, yes?—Thomas
Thomas, you think too highly of yourself. Emmett
Yes, Emmett decided. He was definitely enjoying the back and forth with Thomas. Thomas had a good sense of sarcasm, very close to his own. It was amusing and for once Emmett could play without fear of being misunderstood.
The sky was dimming when Emmett made his way through the darkening corridors and sought the space of the gardens.
