Chapter 25 June 28 There was no heat to be found in the damp, dark space no matter how Emmett tried to move his body. Against the wall Emmett had to fend with rocks that were sharp, wet, and leeched the cold as if they were they were somehow bound directly to the most northern reaches of mankind’s knowledge. If he pulled away from the wall, using the slight give on the shackles that held his arms above him, his body seemed to fall into the exact spot that a draft rolled from the staircase that led to the only light source.
