Preposterous Plans
We spent the remainder of that afternoon discussing what I had seen in Augustin’s blood and trying with increasing desperation to fabricate new plans for our future. Our shared truth had struck us like a bullet between the eyes: our besotted hearts rebelled against the mere idea of going our separate ways either now or in twenty years’ time.
