Jeremy Anderson’s POV My pulse is a drum, hammering in my ears, and the world narrows to the embarrassment I feel when Claire’s eyes widen, startled as she gazes down at me. Her lips, her warmth, the subtle quiver in her hands, it’s all more than I can contain. My wolf roars under my skin, tugging at every fiber of my being, demanding, claiming, and bringing me back up to my full height. The heat is across my face, but it’s being overridden by the animal in me. I want to feel her pressed against me, taste that soft defiance I feel in every heartbeat between us. My hand twitches, wanting to reach for her hair, to cup her face again, to pull her impossibly close. The ache in my chest is unbearable, like I’ve been holding back a tide that now crashes through every rational thought I have.
