Chapter 16

2012 Words

I head to the bathroom to start the water. I grab my favorite aromatherapy bubble bath and pour it into the bath liberally. I light some candles and dim the lights in the bathroom. After ten minutes, the bathtub is full with soapy water and I slowly climb in, welcoming the warmth and swirls of bubbles that float around me. I lay my head back against the back edge of the tub and begin to think about my day. Declan. His somber expression. The way he pulled his hand away from me. Things will never be the same. There is no going back. Although I am sad for him, my thoughts cannot help but shift to Morgan. I am suddenly flooded with memories of her perfume, her beautiful blue eyes and full lips. I am thinking about the way she touched me in the bathroom and the chills that ran through my body.
