“Hello? Addison, did you hear anything I just said?” Julie interrupts my thoughts. “Yes, of course, sorry there is just a lot of good people watching here tonight.”
“Oh, yeah, I know, okay so anyway…” Julie continues on about how everything will be fine if Declan and I decide to break up but I should decide sooner rather than later.
I am trying to listen to her and pay attention to the woman. And then suddenly she glances in my direction. I begin to panic, as our eyes meet. She locks her gaze into mine and we are the only ones in the bar for just a brief moment. What is that I see in her eyes? Recognition? She begins to stand and then walk away from the bar. Oh no! I think she is going to come over here! The blood is pumping hard in my chest. I see her turn the corner and head this way.
