Chapter Fourteen The afternoon sun felt like an oven. It’d been forecasted to get close to a hundred degrees in the shade. A very, very warm day for late October, Sam had said. “Today’s going to be hotter than hell’s kitchen, Jack. I hope you can handle the weather on this side of the world.” “I’ve been in worst hot spots, Angel. The jungles of New Guinea weren’t a picnic, weather-wise.” I took off my jacket and wiped my brow.
