CAMILLA I was already halfway down the corridor by the time the adrenaline evened out. Of course he sent a guard to tell me to meet him at the council chambers. Of course he couldn’t come himself. Arrogant prick. Rhysand never gave anyone a moment to breathe. Not even me, not the Beta he practically dragged back into the fold. Especially not me. My boots hit the polished stone floor with sharp, echoing clicks, each step harder than the last. I wasn’t rushing, but I wasn’t strolling either. The kind of walk that dared someone to stop me. The halls were too quiet, too polished like everything in this damned place was built to control. I adjusted the blazer on my shoulders. The council chamber was just ahead, and my irritation heightened. I hated that he still had this effect on me.
